EL AO NUEVO CHINO
Los chinos celebran el Ao Nuevo en donde sea que se encuentren en el mundo. Para ellos representa un nuevo comienzo y la llegada de la primavera. Todos se visten de rojo y a los nios se les regalan hongbao, que son sobres rojos con dinero.

HOLI
Esta festividad se celebra en India, Nepal y en partes de Europa y Amrica del Norte.
Holi es un antiguo festival hind que puede durar hasta siete das. Tambin se lo conoce como La fiesta de los colores. En este festival se celebra el comienzo de la primavera y el triunfo de la bondad, la paz y el amor sobre el mal. Para celebrar las personas encienden fogatas y se lanzan agua y polvos de colores llamados gulal.
Por la tarde todos visitan a sus familiares y amigos mientras la celebracin contina. Se preparan muchos platos especiales como:
Gujiyas: masas dulces rellenas con nueces, dtiles o coco.
Malpuas: panqueques fritos y azucarados.

CARNAVALES
Antes de la Pascua los cristianos dejan de comer ciertas comidas durante un periodo que se llama Cuaresma. Este tiempo lo usan para pensar en la importancia que tienen en sus vidas las enseanzas de Dios. Justo antes del inicio de la Cuaresma se celebran los Carnavales con sus desfiles llenos de colores y sonidos.
En el Carnaval de Venecia, en Italia, las personas usan mscaras y adornos en la cabeza finamente decorados.
Durante ms de cinco das, casi diez millones de personas van a Ro de Janeiro para participar en el carnaval y en las fiestas callejeras de Brasil.
El carnaval de Ro de Janeiro se celebra desde 1723 y es el ms grande y famoso del mundo. La mejor parte es el desfile de las ms asombrosas para el carnaval.
DA DE LOS MUERTOS
La gente se disfraza y se pone mscaras de calaveras o se pinta calaveras en el rostro.

El Da de los Muertos se festeja todos los aos Mxico y tambin en pases como Espaa y Brasil. En ingls se llama Day of the Dead. A pesar de su nombre no es una fiesta triste, ms bien es una alegre ocasin en la que se celebra la vida de los que ya no estn.
Durante las celebraciones las personas recuerdan a sus seres queridos. El 1 de noviembre se recuerda a los nios, y el 2 a los adultos. Se arman pequeos altares en los hogares llamados ofrendas, y se decoran con fotografas, velas, calndulas y calaveras de azcar.
