When writer-editor Jennifer Ditsler-Ladonne decided it was time to leave her longtime home, Manhattan, there was only one place to go: Paris. Her insatiable curiositywhich earned her a reputation in New York for knowing just the right place to go for just the right anythinghas found the perfect home in the inexhaustible streets of Paris. An avid cook and wine lover, shes a frequent contributor on wine and travel and a monthly columnistfor the magazine France Today . Whether youre looking for the best neighborhood bistros or the perfect little black dress, shes the person to ask, as we did for our dining and shopping updates.
Paige Donner first moved to Paris with her husband in the 90s and worked as an entertainment reporter for Variety . She maintains a vibrant relationship with Pariss cultural offerings, be they dance, theater, opera, music, cinema, poetry, books, fashion, food, and wine. Her articles about travel, entertainment, and the environment have appeared in the International Herald Tribune, New YorkTimes, Los Angeles Times, Huffington Post, and Bonjour Paris . Through her website/blog, Local Food And Wine, Paige organizes day-trips to Champagne and Paris tasting tours. Contact her at about.me/paigedonner .
Journalist and photographer Linda Hervieux has explored most corners of Paris since moving to the City of Light in 2004. Her writing has appeared in the New York Times , the International Herald Tribune, and the New York Daily News, among others. For Fodors Paris, shes scoped out more than 100 museums and galleries, takingparticular care to document her favorite: the mighty Muse du Louvre, where she studied art history. After a short stint with a travel magazine in New York, Bryan Pirolli decided to leave the office in 2008 and actually travel, settling in Paris, conveniently near two major train stations. While delivering pizzas by bicycle, pulling coffee shots, and working as a tour guide, he has spent countless hours exploring Parisian neighborhoods for Fodors, enjoying cafs and pastries along the banks of the Canal and chocolate shops and crepes inthe Latin Quarter. Bryan is also pursuing a degree at the Sorbonne, where he absorbs recommendations from French students.
Heather Stimmler-Hall came to Paris as a university student in 1995 and was almost immediately put to work by family and friends back home who were asking for hotel recommendations. Over 15 years later shes made a career out of reading between the lines of glossy hotel brochures and talking even the grumpiest receptionist into letting her poke around their rooms. Shes reviewed hundreds of hotels for international publications such as France magazine, Hotelier International, her own monthly e-newsletter, www.secretsofparis.com , Naughty Paris: A Ladys Guide to the Sexy City . Although shes not too jaded to appreciate the citys gorgeous five-star palace and design-boutique hotels, what really gets her excited are the hidden budget hotels with a uniquely Parisiancharacter.
