Synergy Theatre Project creates ground-breaking work which harnesses the energy, instincts and life experiences of those we work with prisoners, ex-prisoners, young offenders and young people at risk of offending gives them a voice and, in doing so, their dignity back. We inspire change by affecting feelings, attitudes and behaviour and provide practical opportunities which build a bridge from prison to social reintegration.
We are also concerned with the impact of our work on the public and use stories to humanise and provide new insights into the criminal justice system. Central to our approach is a commitment to artistic quality and empowerment of beneficiaries with the work taking place both in theatres and prisons and non-traditional venues, playing to diverse audiences and promoting mutual exchange between performers and audience to break down social barriers.

Soho Theatre is a major creator of new theatre, comedy and cabaret. Across our three distinct spaces we curate the finest live performance we can discover, develop and nurture. Soho Theatre works with theatre makers and companies in a variety of ways, from full producing of new plays, to co-producing new work, working with associate artists and presenting the best new emerging theatre companies that we can find. We have numerous writers and theatre makers on attachment and under commission, six young writers and comedy groups and we read and see hundreds of shows a year all in an effort to bring our audience work that amazes, moves and inspires. Soho Theatre was buzzing, and there were queues all over the building as audiences waited to go into one or other of the venues spaces. (The audience) is so young, exuberant and clearly anticipating a good time. Guardian | Over the last five years we have almost trebled our audiences, opened a new venue and produced more work than ever before. Each year we have over 2000 performances on our stages and audiences of more than 220,000 people see our work. Our social enterprise business model means that we maximise value from Arts Council and philanthropic funding; we actually contribute more to government in tax and NI than we receive in public funding. sohotheatre.com Find us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram: Sohotheatre @sohotheatre Registered Charity No: 267234 Soho Theatre, 21 Dean Street London W1D 3NE Admin 020 7287 5060 Box Office 020 7478 0100 |
