Brian Cathcart has written two previous books, Were You Still Up for Portillo? in 1997 and Test of Greatness: Britains Struggle for the Atom Bomb in 1994. Born and educated in Ireland, he was a Reuters correspondent before joining the Independent on Sunday. He first wrote about the Lawrence case for Granta and later reported on the public inquiry for the New Statesman. The Case of Stephen Lawrence won the Crime Writers Association Award for Non-Fiction. Brian Cathcart lives in north London.
