PREFACE

Our Creator's purposes appear to be threefold: the enjoyment, the exploration, and the development of space. To further these purposes, the star-system of which we are a part is growing the earth into a sophisticated organ of universal intelligence. The human family is a strategic component of this soon-to-be-completed organism.

Terra Christa invites you to a perspective.

This book looks at Judeo-Christianity in a new waya way not immune to imperfection, but a way that nevertheless uncovers something meaningful which has been overlooked by our traditions. It represents a lighter, more biological look at the Coming of Christ than perhaps the theologians would prefer, but it is offered in good sport.

I hope that we have emerged into an age when the narrow religious intolerances of the past can be lifted like an unnecessary curfew and laid to rest. We may always have different ways of looking at God. Is that so very bad? The cells of different organs naturally perceive the body from distinct vantage points.

As Christians we do not share a dogma. We share a spirit. Theology has never united us and it never will. Those who dare to take their understanding with a grain of salt discover that behind their differences is a spirit common to all.

This book is a celebration of that Spirit. It speaks of the unparalleled changes that are upon our race and shares experiences, perspectives and principles that can help us better understand them. It speaks of the men and women whose eyes have begun to see the glory of the coming of the Lord. It outlines simple procedures which can make this experience accessible to all. This is not a book about corruption. It fails to mention the Anti-Christ.

This book is about Christ. It tells an abridged tale of humanity's experience with its Creator. It is for anyone who still entertains the prospect of a New Heaven or a New Earth. It is a book for Christians, for Jews, for mainstream churchgoers and agnostics alike. It is not recommended for anyone with arthritic understanding, unable to creak into new perspectives. It is a book about life, change, growth, healing, transformation and renewal. It is a book for my friends.

INTRODUCTION

A new generation of Christians is traveling well past the intimidating borders of centuries of tradition to discover the living presence of Christ in their midst. They are becoming aware of a new vision percolating beneath the fabric of their society, seeping through the cracks and crevices of their outworn notions like a great Being waking from centuries of restless slumber.

Already the roots of secular sensibilities are beginning to tremble as this new vision breaks through in bits and pieces. The new physicians at the vanguard of the healing arts are amazed as they discover that healing is an inevitable byproduct of their own love kindling the powers of love in their patients. At the frontiers of science, the new physicists are cataloging the subatomic behavior of playful, creative energies that hint at revolutionary new premises, premises with implications that shake the very foundations of conventional thought. Futurists, historians and sociologists alike all seem to agree that sometime during the next quarter century, the human species will experience a transformation even more fundamental than the shift to an agricultural civilization some ten thousand years ago.

Will this transformation be cataclysmic? Will it be apocalyptic? Or will it be wonderful beyond anything this earth has ever known? I suspect the answers to these questions lie within each one of us. They will vary to the degree that we are each able to align ourselves with the Great Spirit surfacing through our events. If we cling to conceptual interpretations, we are likely to suffer in their inevitable collapse; but if we open our hearts and minds in true humility, to receive again as little children, we are likely to share in the greatest adventure of all time.

What is scripturally encoded in the concise symbolic prose of the Old and New Testaments represents the most remarkable key to human transformation ever compressed into language.

I would like to invite you to join me on a journey of creation and discovery that will lead us deep into the heart of what can only be described as a new world. Partaking of a promise made long ago on the hills of Galilee, we shall travel on the current of the Spirit of truth. We will look at our terrestrial affairs from new eyes. What is occurring among us in the last years of this century marks an end to millennia of darkness. A truly Holy Spirit is waking in the minds and hearts of people the world over, a spirit with a vision, a purpose, a power and a clarity fully capable of helping us see the errors of the past and the possibilities of the present.

Just as the Appalachian Ridge once intimidated the first settlers of the American continent and limited their initial colonization to a narrow coastal band between the mountains and the sea, so contemporary human wisdom, entrenched in a multitude of assumptions and expectations, stretches like an intimidating ridge across the frontiers of what is deemed possible.

If you are one of those who are adventurous enough, bold enough, creative enough, daring enough, to wonder what lies on the other side of this ridgeor if you have already stepped beyond its dividethis book is for you. It is the report of an author and his family who have spent a decade and a half listening in the quietude of the unsettled places: listening to the forests, to the mountains, to the subtle and sometimes distinct voices of nature and nature's God. This report is shared with you as a statement of hope and possibility. It can be done. The new lands are habitable. A spirit of transformation is alive and active in the hearts and minds of a growing number of new pioneers. The ultimate frontier awaits.

I APPROACH
CLEANSING THE WINDOWS OF PERCEPTION

My nine-year-old son gave me a good lesson once. I had presented him with a Rubic Cube for his birthday, explained its challenge to him and watched as he hopelessly mixed the colors of the cube. We did not have any books that explained how to solve Rubies challenge, and I did not seriously expect him to sort his way through the billions of possibilities. But one morning as I walked into his room, I had no sooner noticed him sitting on the floor with his cube, when his younger companion suddenly announced, "Fin got his cube fixed!

A triumphant Fin held up the completed cube. I examined it; sure enough, each of its six sides was once again a solid color. Somewhat incredulous, I asked how he had done it. But before he could explain, his little playmate blurted out, "He switched all the stickers!"
