The idea of being confronted with a paranormal phenomenon of any kind is enough to flabbergast most people. But what if that paranormal phenomenon is coupled with a crime? Seeing a Bigfoot in the wilderness would be stunning enough, but imagine one grabbing your wallet and running off with it! The same goes for folks who claim to have been attacked by ghosts, demons and the like. There are even some who say they somehow got on the bad side of elves, fairies or other woodland sprites. And while everyday crooks are bad enough, when an entity that can walk through walls and travel through space and time starts giving you the shakedown, it adds a whole new dimension to the matterliterally!

The stories herein are admittedly hard to believe all the way around, but those telling them, seem sincere enough. So, whether you believe them or not, suspend your judgment for a moment as we take a look at some of the most astonishing alleged close encountersof the criminal kind!

When it comes to cases of paranormal abduction, most people probably think of little grey-skinned aliens. But these are not the only paranormal entities that stand accused of kidnapping. The hairy, apelike creature known as Bigfoot has also generated its fair share of abduction stories.

Take the case of Jason Richardson. Jason was a middle-aged outdoorsman who was out hiking one afternoon in Northern California. The hike was supposed to take him from Lake Tahoe to the summit of Mount Tallac and back, a strenuous journey of around ten miles. His bizarre encounter began some time before he reached the peak when he heard a guttural yet simultaneously babyish voice whining in the distance as he stopped to take a drink. Worried that a baby had been abandoned in the wilderness, he immediately put his water bottle back in his pack and headed toward the sound. But he didnt make it very far, because out of nowhere, something struck him from behind and he went out like a light.

He regained consciousness several hours later, disoriented and unsure of where he was. He seemed to be inside a cave, and he could hear running water in the background, but other than that he was at a complete loss. Shortly afterward, he came to the startling realization that he was not alone.

He looked up to see two bear-like creatures who seemed to be vigorously debating what to do with him in the same guttural tone of voice that he had heard from the trail. The creatures torsos and legs were covered in thick red hair. The first thing that came to mind was that they were a pair of bears walking upright. At the same time, though, he knew that they were not really bears; they were creatures of a whole other magnitude. That much was evident from their communication with each other. They were obviously intelligentmore intelligent than any known bears, at least. They also knew how to restrain their prey, which Jason quickly discovered when he realized that his ankles and hands had been tied together by vines. He was quite understandably in a state of shock, but he was able to notice the basic details about them. Strangely, even though the beings as a whole were very hairy, their necks were absolutely hairless. Their heads were covered with red hair and black feathers.

Jason decided against speaking to these bizarre creatures, reasoning that it could just anger them and make an obviously bad situation even worse. Instead, he just tried to go with the flow and hope for the best. But as much as he tried to keep a lower profile, it wasnt long before one of the Bigfoots walked over and gave him a swift kick to the sternum. Jason, predictably enough, cried out in pain. This seemed to please the Bigfoot, but not necessarily out of sadism; it seemed more like the creature was just happy to see that Jason was still alive after he had been staying still and quiet as a statue. The next thing he knew, the Bigfoots brought out a variety of stone and wooden tools and used them to cut through the vines that bound him.

Although free, Jason initially maintained the low profile hed decided was his best course of action. He made no attempt to communicate with his captors or to escape. Instead, he simply leaned against the wall contemplating the strange predicament he was in. Maybe the Bigfoots didnt find his glum disposition very entertaining, or maybe theyd simply gotten tired of having him around, but after a while, they apparently decided to get rid of him. One of the creatures approached him without a word (or even a grunt), grabbed him by the arms and legs, and unceremoniously tossed him out of the cave. To emphasize the point, the other one then hurled a large rock that just missed Jasons head.

Jason could take a hint; he knew that his time was up and his erstwhile hosts were telling him to hit the road. He hightailed it back to the trail and started hiking back to his car as fast as he could. It was only when he reached it that he bothered to check his watch and learned that his ordeal had lasted for over 10 hours. Whether or not the pesky Bigfeet who nabbed him and confined him against his will realized that their actions were criminal, it was certainly an ordeal that Jason Richardson would never forget.

In 2012 a woman named Karen moved her family into her dream home in Baltimore, Maryland. The dream quickly turned into a nightmare, which sounds like the beginning of any number of campfire ghost storiesbut this incident is taken from the pages of real life.

Karen didnt know it, because the real estate agent had somehow left this fact out of the listing, but her new home was the scene of a grisly murder-suicide involving its previous occupants. She found out the truth one day when she was gardening and a neighborhood boy approached and asked her a rather odd question. In a completely innocent manner, the child inquired, Did you guys see any blood in there?
