What Your Fellow Badass Travelers
Are Saying About In Charge
Since I am advocating for breaking rules that dont make sense to us, Im taking my own advice and breaking the rule of what endorsements for a book should look like and who they should be from. These are endorsements from real women who read the book and felt that it was worth their time. I am humbled by and grateful for their endorsements, and I could not think of voices more esteemed to comment on this book than fellow badass travelers on this journey. A.R.
Arin doesnt know me. She doesnt know my struggles or what my day-to-day looks like. However, in just the first few pages alone, I feel like she sees ME. It was as if she sees that, despite the constant challenges Im up against, I am not complaining or looking for sympathybut that once in a while, it would be nice to not feel so f-ing exhausted at the end of the day. I dont want to hear go for a massage, or make time for yourself I know all thatand I wish it was that easy. This book has helped me reassess where my energy sucks are, and how take charge of how and where I focus my energy so that I dont feel like a total hot mess ALL. THE. TIME. Just the simple concept of self-awareness, in the context that Arin dives into, has helped make a world of a difference in finding and hopefully sustaining my peace. I only say hopefully because there is 42 years of not knowing any differently that I need to adjust and work on which is why I will definitely be re-reading this book, and all my highlights and notes again and again.

Thank you so much for sharing these powerful and refreshingly honest stories. I have never felt so seen and understood. I laughed out loud and cried tears of relief. I feel like I have finally found my tribe, and have permission to be unapologetically me to speak up, subtract, say no, and yes, even curse and touch the controls (not that I needed permission)!

Imagine being guided to breaking the rules, finding your reset button and claiming your safe space while expressing yourself as strongly as you choose. You will find all of that in In Charge , shared in a way that is about real women and real situations and that comes from the heart of an author who brings her personal experiences as well as the data to prove her points. Through her new book, Arin Reeves charts the course for women to peace, joy and acknowledgment with energy to spare and supported by a community of strong women. I couldnt stop highlighting there were so many parts I wanted to remember!

NEVER QUIT, BUT STOP WHAT ISNT WORKING needs to be on a billboard. This statement resonates with me so well. Ive always been the hustler, the go-getter, the to-do lister. I set a goal, I achieve it but never realize how much pressure I put on myself to achieve it until life smacks me upside the head to remind me. The 1 out, 1 in rule has been a game changer for me. Ive incorporated it into current passion projects Im working on and WOW, Ive noticed the difference. Im learning that I can do it all, but not all at once and not at the cost of my physical and mental health.

I dont have time to read books. I have more unread books at home than books that have even been opened. When Arin asked me to read this book and give her a couple of sentences for the back of the book if I wanted to I said yes but I didnt expect to be able to get to it. I picked it up and couldnt put it down. I read several parts out loud with my sister. The book was not what I expected it to be, but it was honestly exactly what I needed to read right now. All of it resonated, but if I had to pick just one thing to recommend to you? Hell yes to the chapter on cursing .
Michelle
Read the book. Do the exercises. I dont know you but I know it will be worth your time.

Holy shit! Ive seen Arin Reeves in her trainings and workshops, and shes hilarious. She manages to write the way she presents. This book felt like a conversation with a good friend you know, that friend that you call who will call you out on your shit and make you feel loved at the same time. I will be sharing this book with the women in my life and talking about it with them.

I saw myself in so many of the womens stories. Different parts of myself. This book is wise and sarcastic in equal parts. You can feel Arins passion for empowering women. Annas story resonated with me because of my own experiences. It was heavy. And the epilogue to that story? Fucking priceless. Definitely worth your time and money, many times over.

Dang it girl, you made me cry! And laugh. And get pissed off. And feel hugged. Loved the section on celebrating, and the exercises were easy to follow and powerful.

I was one of the women Arin interviewed for this book. Reading my own story made me realize how much progress Ive made since I started working with her. But reading the other stories made me realize I was not alone in my struggles. This book is your reminder that you are not alone in what you are experiencing, and that we can make a difference for ourselves in our lives and for other women too.

Okay, the story about the chimpanzee cursing made me laugh out loud on the train. When the woman sitting a couple of seats from me looked up I told her about the book and read some of the chimpanzee story to her. We laughed hysterically the rest of the ride. I read her more from the book and she took down Arins information and said that she couldnt wait to get the book. She and I have stayed in touch. Thats the power of women sharing stories.

I loved the book and Im excited to share it with my friends. Im even more excited to share it with my daughter and her friends who are in their mid-twenties. I wish I had read something like this before I started following a truckload of rules that I am now needing to break.

Pissedoffness is my new favorite word. Who the fuck knew
that one word could capture so much of life right now. I love it.
I love that Arin can make a topic like exhaustion and pissedoff
ness fun to read. She talks about joy in this book. The book was
a joy to read.
