A USS Liberty Remembrance of 50 years USA Government Cover-Up of Israels 8 June 1967 Attack on USA Spy-Ship: Part 1: summary, description and annotation

If you haven't found the necessary information about the book — write in the comments, we will try to find it.

The crew of the USS Liberty is the most decorated crew since World War II and among the most decorated for a single engagement in the entire history of the United States Navy. Virtually unarmed, Americas premier Spy-Ship was attacked while in international waters by Israeli planes and torpedo boats on 8 June 1967. 34 US Sailors and Marines were killed and 174 wounded.
The attack on the USS Liberty remains the only incident of damage to a major US ship since the sinking of the USS MAINE in Havana Harbour in 1898, prior to the Spanish-American War, that has not been investigated by the US Congress.
Author and activist Eileen Fleming condenses nine years of research and interviews with USS LIBERTY Veterans in the first book of a series seeking:
A new Court of Inquiry to be convened by the Department of the Navy, operating with Congressional oversight and public testimony from surviving crew members; to thoroughly investigate the attack on the USS Liberty, with full cooperation from the National Security Agency, the Central Intelligence Agency and the military intelligence services, so as to determine Israels motive in launching the attack on the USS Liberty so as to end the USA Government Cover-Up and its dishonoring of the Liberty Veterans.
This book calls to every appropriate committee of the Congress of the United States to investigate the actions of the White House and Defense Department who prevented the rescue of the USS Liberty and threatened the survivors if they told their eye witness experiences to the American people.
The ultimate intention of this book is to establish the eighth day of June to be known as USS LIBERTY REMEMBRANCE DAY, in order to commemorate the Libertys heroic crew and to educate the American people of the danger to our national security inherent in any passionate attachment of our elected officials for any foreign nation. - Admiral Thomas H. Moorer, United States Navy, (Ret.), Former Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff; General Raymond G. Davis, United States Marine Corps, (MOH), Former Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps; Rear Admiral Merlin Staring, United States Navy, (Ret.), Former Judge Advocate General of the Navy; and Ambassador James Akins, (Ret.), Former United States Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Independent Commission of Inquiry October 2003.

We must never forget the Holocaust and it is equally important for the future of the United States to never forget the USS Liberty.

The book you are about to read should disturb you and cause you to wonder could this really happen in America? As a survivor of the deliberate June 8, 1967 Israeli attack on the USS Liberty I assure you that it really happened and the bigotry suffered by the crew and Liberty supporters is really happening today.

Eileen Fleming has woven details of the incident, poignant statements from the crew, and others to build a solid spiritual platform and Biblical rebuttal to blind support of Israel. The chapter on Christian Zionism underscores the fundamentals Jesus taught about loving our neighbor, which includes Palestinians and Arabs.

Eileen exposes the deceit the American Government has perpetrated on the American public in order to protect the special relationship with Israel on the backs of the Liberty crew and the 34 men who were murdered that day on the high seas while navigating in international waters.

Ms. Fleming has done a superb job to challenge the reader to think about why we all must become activists if we are ever to stop America from fighting Islamic wars. Have we learned nothing from the Vietnam civil war?

As you journey into Ms. Fleming fine literary work, I leave you with the following thoughts:

To learn who rules over you simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize. - Voltaire

We the Jewish people control America and Americans know it. - Aerial Sharon

Remember the USS Liberty: the most decorated Navy ship for a single engagement.

Ernest A. Gallo, President USS Liberty Veterans Association

The most effective way to destroy people is to deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history.- George Orwell

Before that day we call 911, I was a comfortably numb Christian and privileged American. I support our troops and respect veterans. I denounce war and violence.

I am the granddaughter of a German Jew who died before I could learn how many of my relatives were gassed or fried by the Third Reich.

THAT DAY we call 911 irrevocably altered my life and shortly thereafter I realized my childhood dream of becoming a reporter simply because The Media was NOT asking my questions!

I began to research Americas Middle East policies and being a follower of the NONVIOLENT Jesus, I was led to join the Olive Trees Foundation for Peace, founded in Orlando by a 1948 Palestinian Muslim refugee from the Galilee who made his way to the USA and realized the American Dream.

Dr. Khaled Diab inspired American Christians, Jews, Muslims and others to learn about the Israeli Palestinian conflict and we raised funds for over 40,000 fruit bearing trees that were rooted on both sides of The Wall before the non-profit disbanded.

In 2005, Dr. Diab was my shepherd on my first of 8 trips to both sides of The Wall in the Holy Land and shortly thereafter I connected with SABEEL, which was founded in Jerusalem and has grown into a global Christian Liberation movement seeking an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestine and honoring of equal human rights and international law.

But I knew nothing about the USS LIBERTY until 13 October 2007; when USS Liberty veteran, Phillip F. Tourney, lit a fire in my belly at a No More Wars for Israel Conference, which had been dedicated to Israels Nuclear Whistle Blower, Mordechai Vanunu.

I was asked to speak at the conference because I met Vanunu while in Jerusalem in 2005, and we began a series of interviews that are freely streaming at YouTube and enshrined in hundreds of articles and five of my so far eight books.

Before I made that trip to California, a few human rights activists warned me that I should NOT attend the conference because anti-Semites, neo-Nazis and white supremacists would be in attendance!

I thanked them for their concern and imagined Jesus would welcome the opportunity to speak to anti-Semites, neo-Nazis and white supremacists and so, I welcomed the opportunity to travel from Florida to California, but when I arrived I learned I did not have a room at the Inn where the conference was scheduled to take place.

The hotel had also cancelled the event due to complaints that there would be anti-Semites, neo-Nazis and white supremacists in attendance.

The conference was rescheduled at a Church nine hours later and indeed, I did not agree with many things some of the other speakers said, but I uphold that all people have the right to think their own thoughts and speak their own minds.

But when USS LIBERTY survivor Phillip F. Tourney, [a three time President of the USS LIBERTY Veterans Association] spoke about that day in infamy in 1967, I KNEW why I had made the trip!

Tourney spoke in depth about the 34 Americans who were brutally slaughtered, 174 wounded [including himself] all because Israel attacked America's virtually unarmed premier spy ship the USS LIBERTY while she navigated in international waters during the Six Day War.

When Phil said "It was God that kept the LIBERTY afloat" I knew I would do more than just listen to him.

In 2012, I ran for US HOUSE on a platform that included establishing every June 8 to be known as USS LIBERTY REMEMBRANCE DAY.

I admit to being liberal, IF by liberal you mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reaction, someone who cares about the welfare of the people their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties, someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what you mean by a liberal, then Im proud to say Im a liberal.- John F. Kennedy

The ABC affiliate in Orlando, offered all the local 2012 candidates for federal office three minutes of television time. I used mine to say that if I were elected, I would work to end federal regulations on cannabis and allow the states the right to legalize [or not] and reap all the profits from cultivation to dissemination of cannabis.

I said I would work to establish every June 8 th as USS LIBERTY Remembrance Day because the LBJ Administration failed to support those troops that Israel attacked aboard Americas premier spy ship as it navigated in international waters during The Six Day War, killed 34, wounded 174, and the Liberty troops still cry out for justice.

I quoted George Washingtons warning from his farewell address to, "Observe good faith and justice towards all nations; cultivate peace and harmony with alland passionate attachments for others, should be excluded; and that, in place of them, just and amicable feelings towards all should be cultivated. The nation which indulges towards another a habitual hatred or a habitual fondness is in some degree a slavea passionate attachment of one nation for another produces a variety of evils."
