Templars in America: From the Crusades to the New World: summary, description and annotation

We offer to read an annotation, description, summary or preface (depends on what the author of the book "Templars in America: From the Crusades to the New World" wrote himself). If you haven't found the necessary information about the book — write in the comments, we will try to find it.

Two historians reveal the hidden history of the Knights Templar in pre-Columbian America and their influence on the Founding Fathers.Templars in America reveals the story of two leading European Templar families who combined forces to create a new commonwealth in America nearly a century before the voyages of Christopher Columbus. Henry St. Clair of the Orkney Islands, then part of Normandy, and Carlo Zeno, a Venetian trader, made peaceful and mutually beneficial contact with the Mikmaq people of what is now Canada. Historians Tim Wallace-Murphy and Marilyn Hopkins draw on archival and archaeological evidence to prove the Templar voyage. They then demonstrate how this early contact with the Americas ties into the centuries-long development of the Templars and Freemasonry, which in turn shaped the thinking of the founding fathersand the American Constitution. Wallace-Murphy and Hopkins also reveal the continuous history of American exploration from the time of ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome, through the age of the Vikings. Templars in America is a wild ride from the golden age of exploration to the founding of the United States.

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

THIS WORK IS THE FRUIT OF TEN YEARS of research into trans Atlantic exploration spanning over 1400 years, from Roman times to the fifteenth century. Like all such undertakings, it has been aided by the insight and knowledge of many willing helpers on two continents. We gratefully acknowledge the generosity of spirit that led so many people to contribute to our understanding.

In Italy: the Morosini Naval Academy of Venice, the Municipality of Venice, and our good friends Nicolo and Eleanor Zeno of Venice.

In France: Guy Jourdan of Bargemon, Provence; and Dr. Biorn Ivemark of Belvezes-du-Razes.

In England: Captain Jack Lammaman; Vic Rosati of Totnes; Lord Malcolm Sinclair, Earl of Caithness and the hereditary Chieftain of the Clan Sinclair; and Tony and Anna Sinclair of London.

In Scotland: Stuart Beattie of the Rosslyn Chapel Trust; James Mackay Munro of Penicuick; the staff of the National Library of Scotland in Edinburgh; Andrew Pattison of Edinburgh; Ian and Joan Sinclair of the Niven Sinclair Study Center, Wick, Caithness; Josh and Cath Gourlay of orkney; the islands Council of orkney; the organizers of the orkney Science Festival, and all the contributors to the Sinclair Symposium in Kirkwall.

In the united States: D'Elayne and Richard Coleman of New York, founders of the Prince Henry Sinclair Society of America; the Clan Sinclair Association of America; the staff of the J. V. Fletcher Memorial Library of Westford, Massachusetts; Elizabeth Lane, also of Westford, the members of the Westford Historical Society; Connie Whittal of Rowley, Massachusetts; Michael Kerber, Mike Conlon, and all at Red Wheel/Weiser of Boston, Massachusetts.

In Canada: the Clan Sinclair Association of Nova Scotia; the Clan Sinclair Association of Canada; Rob Cohn of Halifax, Nova Scotia; Warden Hines and his colleagues from the Municipality of Guysborough, Nova Scotia; the Italian Consul to Nova Scotia; Leo F. McKay of Stellarton, Nova Scotia; Councillor Miles McPherson of Guysborough; Bill Sinclair of Halifax; Jack Sinclair; and Rory Sinclair, the Clan Piper.

From the Mi'qmaq Nation: Grand Chief and Mrs. Benjamin Sylliboy; Donald Julian, Executive Director of the Confederation of Mainland Mi'qmaqs; Dr. Peter Christmas; Mr. and Mrs. Daniel N. Paul of Halifax, who gave so generously of their time, understanding, and hospitality; and Mr. and Mrs. Kerry Prosper.

Last, and undoubtedly first among equals, three remarkable people whose lives have been a constant inspiration: Dame Rita Joe, poet laureate of the Mi'qmaq people; Laura Zolo, the courageous and beautiful yachtswoman of Elba who recreated the Zeno/St. Clair voyage from Venice to Nova Scotia; and Niven Sinclair of London, without whose unstinting help, insight, and encouragement, this work would never have been written.
