Contributors
Professor Ian F.W. Beckett is Professor of History at the University of Northampton, and Chairman of the Army Records Society. His publications include Ypres: The First Battle, 1914 (2004), The Great War, 19141918 (2001) and The First World War: The Essential Guide to Sources in the UK National Archives (2002).
Dr John Bourne is Director of the Centre for First World War Studies at the University of Birmingham. His publications include Britain and the Great War, 19141918 (1989) and (co-edited with Gary Sheffield) Douglas Haig: Diaries and Letters (2004).
Dr Steven J. Corvi is Assistant Professor at the American Military University and is Northeast Area Chairman for Military History in the Popular Culture Association. His specialization is the First World War, especially the military career of Horace Smith-Dorrien. He has published in the Journal of the Society for Army Historical Research and Journal of Popular Culture.
Dr Nikolas Gardner is Lecturer in History at the University of Salford. His publications include Trial by Fire: Command and the British Expeditionary Force in 1914 (2003). He is currently working on the siege of Kut-al-Amara.
Dr Matthew Hughes is Senior Lecturer in History at Brunel University and editor of the Journal of the Society for Army Historical Research. His publications include Allenby and British Strategy in the Middle East, 191719 (1999) and Allenby in Palestine (2004).
John Lee is Treasurer of the British Commission for Military History. His publications include The Warlords: Hindenburg and Ludendorff (2005) and A Soldiers Life: General Sir Ian Hamilton (2000).
