THE
Chihuahua Book
Dear Reader,
Thinking about purchasing a Chihuahua puppy? Adopting a rescued adult Chihuahua? Or just interested in more information on the Chihuahua you already own and treasure? I wrote this book with you in mind.
For the soon-to-be owner, I've included lots of good, solid Chihuahua information. You'll find everything from how to find a healthy, sound Chihuahua to how to care for him throughout all the stages of his life. From birth to geriatrics, the information is here.
If you are adopting a rescued Chihuahua, I've included special information that applies specifically to integrating the previously owned dog into your home successfully. These Chis are terrific dogs, but if you adopt one that needs a little work, you'll know exactly what to do and where to find the help you need.
And not to leave out the seasoned Chihuahua owner, 1 hope I've unearthed some new and unique tidbits about the breed and also given you some food for thought when it comes to adding another Chihuahua to your life.
I hope you find reading this book as entertaining and enlightening as owning your Chihuahua will be!
Hasta luego!

This book is only possible through the kindness and expertise of many knowledgeable Chihuahua fanciers, including Barb Pendergrass (Rafina Chihauhuas), Nick De Pompa (Chihuahua Toy Breed Rescue and Retirement), Lynn George (Poco Hacienda Chihuahuas), Robin Colley (Animal Haus Chihuahuas), Lynnie Bunten (National Rescue Chairperson for the Chihuahua Club of America and owner of Kachina Chihuahuas), and Michele Giroux (Proux Chihuahuas). I realize it was a lot of material to go through, but I so appreciate your help and dedication to this wonderful breed. And, of course, thanks go to Christine Neering, D.V.M., for making sure all my veterinary medical advice is sound, accurate, and up-to-date.
