I never imagined I would be lucky enough to write a book it was always a goal up there and now it's a dream come true thanks to an incredible team.
I will be forever grateful for my team at United Agents. The book wouldn't exist if it wasn't for them believing I could do it and doing everything in their power to make sure I did do it! Ariella, your words of wisdom and advice, Matt and Harry, your support and encouragement, gave me the confidence to do this.
The lovely Kate Faithful-Williams, you are a dream! Thank you for spending hours upon hours listening to me, most definitely, delve into stories that were 100% were not appropriate for the book. You listened with interest and enthusiasm, and I proudly now call you a friend. Your input and creativity has given the book that extra flare and I am very lucky to have worked with you on it.
Laura at Ebury, thank you for your patience and 'hands-on' work throughout! I loved having you at the shoot, talking AND walking through the workouts with me. You really have been a highlight in the whole process for me. Thank you to Steph, Chloe, Helen and the rest of the wonderful team at Ebury. I feel blessed to have worked with such a hard working but thoroughly kind group of people.
Thank you to Mike English for your beautiful photography. Your passion for your work is so apparent and made it a joy to work with you. And to Louise Evans for designing my book. It is everything I wanted and more.
Thank you to my friends for your grounding and humbling nature. I am very lucky to have such loyal, inspiring people in my life.
Finally, I would like to thank my mum and brother. It's down to their on-going strength and determination that I am where I am today. I appreciate you both so much, you inspire me every day to be the best version of myself and my main goal in life is to do you proud. You've put up with my hopes and dreams since forever. Thanks to you, and Dad, I am gradually climbing towards them. I am so grateful, Mum, for all you have done for me, for giving me the discipline to go to dance classes, for cheering me on during fitness ventures. You have always been my biggest fan, and believe it or not, I am yours!
To everybody involved, you're wonderful. None of it would be possible without all of you. Thank you.
Congratulations!
Im so proud of you. Wow!
Every week youve got fitter, I hope you feel amazing. But what happens now?
What youve got here in this book is a sustainable plan you can keep coming back to. How do I know? Because this is what I do all the time. If you eat well, you can get away with skipping the odd workout. And vice versa: if you eat something a bit crap, really challenge yourself in your next workout. Ill be here to keep cheering you on.
In the last four weeks youve developed the routine and motivation to stay in shape. I hope exercise and eating well is more ingrained in your daily life. Remember how much your body has changed. Heres how to continue your good work:
Send me your recreations of your favourite recipes on Instagram, tagging your photos #shapeupwithgabbyallen
Youve got the idea of healthy fast food: protein, veggies, and make it quick. So Id love you to suggest ideas to me too. Or invite me round for dinner!
Keep up the workouts and keep challenging yourself. Record how many reps you do and monitor your ongoing progress. Share your progress with me on Instagram using #shapeupwithgabbyallen so I can find you.
Shorten your rest time between rounds to 45 seconds instead of 60, or add in an extra round, or an extra combination. My favourite combination has to involve a burpee, every time. I know: psycho! Whats your favourite exercise? Let me know.
Alongside the workouts in this book, take a class, weight train or enter a race to keep challenging yourself.
