If you are ready to take one of the most critical steps to a healthy life, which is full of energy, then its about time you shifted to a plant-based diet . I know you must have considered this option umpteen times, but experienced overwhelming emotions at the thought of such a drastic dietary change. It may also be that you dont know where to start. If thats the case, dont worry; you have stumbled upon the right guide. I have tried to gather as many tools and insights as I can to make the shift enjoyable and easy. I am also open to answer all your questions via email once you are done reading the book.

I get a lot of questions asking about whether there are any real secrets for a smoother transition from a meat- diet to an entirely plant-based diet . And my answer has always been the sametake baby steps. Do not attempt doing anything drastic at the start. In doing so, theres still a risk of getting over-stressed about the shift, and thereby never being able to make the shift you desire. It might feel a little hard at first, and you may even stumble along the way, but it will all be worth it if you keep trying. Remember, this is going to be extra hard if you have always been a meat-eater who hates his veggies.

I have been on a plant-based diet for so long, that sometimes I forget what it was like to be on the opposite end of the spectrum. If you have been big on meat, you might also think what could you possibly eat if you dont consume milk, eggs or meat ? Is there anything besides that which can be called as food? Will it be tasty at all? Will I feel like eating a plant-based diet my whole life, or will it be a life of torture? Just kidding. But I used to be plagued by all these questions when I first decided to switch to a plant-based diet . I want to assure you that not only will you discover a whole new world of tastier foods , but you can also get ultra-creative with it. Even if this seems unbelievable right now, hang in with me for a while.

The first thing you need to ask yourself is whether you know why you want to change your dietary habits. Is it because of peer pressure? Is it because of health reasons or reasons related to your environment? Once you know what your goal is, you will find it easier to stick to it. You will also need to anticipate some tough times ahead if this seems like a significant lifestyle change for you. Know that you are going to have some withdrawal symptoms for the first few days. You are going to get tempted to go back to your previous eating habits. But as long as you keep reminding yourself of your goals, you will be able to control your urges.

Lastly , it is of utmost importance that you approach this new chapter in your life with a very positive and open mindset. Keep your focus on all the benefits you are going to receive from following a plant-based diet . You can also make a list of these positive aspects of the diet and stick it on your kitchen wall. This will help you to stay on track. Taking up this new diet plan and maintaining it should not be a question of willpower or struggle. It should be about enjoying new flavors , discovering fresh herbs, spices and plants and just about everything interesting you can get your hands on. Even though the journey might be a slightly difficult one for you; dont make it about a struggle. The more you have fun with a plant-based diet , the more you are going to love it, and the more chances that you will stick to it.

I wanted to come up with a guide which simplifies the transition for my readers. I know it wasnt easy for me when I started, but I wanted to ensure that my readers sail through it smoothly . I didnt want to come up with a preachy guide that gets irritating right from the get-go.

But since we cant do that, I am going to give you a list of healthy ingredients that you can add to your meal plan shopping. Another thing I can do for you is to share my own experience of switching to a plant-based diet . Before we dive into the recipes , let me give you a good idea about what your grocery list will look like.

Note: Planning your meals ahead of time and a well-stocked kitchen should be two of the most important goals of your plant-based lifestyle.

Here are some important points to remember while shopping for your new diet :

You dont have to break the bank. Most people assume that a plant-based diet means making a major dent in your wallet, but it doesnt have to be so. If you plan your shopping, buy produce in bulk, or cut down on your pricey restaurant trips, this diet is certainly very affordable.
Another misconception about this diet is that you may not get enough protein. This is not true. You can certainly get adequate sources of protein through a plant-based diet .
Start slowly . If you have always been a meat-eater, then you need to start incorporating this new diet slowly in your lifestyle.
