Learning the knitting art is relatively simple and common among new generations. Although machines make much of the commercial knitting required for clothing production; though knitting by hand still plays an important role in modern culture. The artist also controls the colors, needles, and overall design of the finished product when knitting by hand.

Knitting patterns provide a strong outline and a basis for any new knitting project. Although knitting patterns may offer design and color ideas, the artist must determine what the final product looks like.

Most beginners should start with some of the detailed basic patterns discussed in this GUIDE and work on learning and mastering the basic stitches. You will want to progress to more advanced stitches and patterns once you master the basics of knitting.

Consider using other tools, such as local craft and hobby shops. You will likely find professionals and enthusiasts who will you to find great knitting patterns.

The history of knitting until the invention of the knitting machine was quite straightforward. The knitting machine changed the purpose of knitting completely. And it was an essential activity for many families before the industrialization of knitting; to keep warm and used as dress.

Knitting today, therefore, is mainly a recreational effort. Knitters enjoy socializing together. People love to knit because it can be a very relaxing way to spend time and ease your nerves. The results of their pastimes are often viewed as gifts to save money.

Knitting's demographics are also shifting. The sole domain of mainly older women was knitting. Nowadays, Knitting is becoming more and more popular with younger generations. In reality, some studies show that knitting has increased by up to 150 percent among the 25 to 35 age groups.

Weft knitting and warp knitting are the most popular types of knitting. In weft knitting, the entire fabric may be produced from a single yarn, by adding stitches to each wale in turn, moving across the fabric as in a raster scan. Warp knitting, however, is usually carried out by computer, so when most people think of knitting, they typically think of weaving.

Circular knitting is another essential form of knitting usually done by hand. This technique uses a circular needle and, when completed, produces a "pipeline" of yarn good for socks and other tubular clothing.

Knitting is a simple and ancient art. As such, the materials you need to knit are quite basic; all you need to knit are needles and yarn when it comes down to it. Nonetheless, you should pay close attention to the kind of yarn you are using, as it will have a significant impact on the look and feel of your final product.

Lets get started!

Chapter One :
Knitting Tools and Materials

The first knitting guild was founded in England in 142. In 1566, King Eric, the king of Sweden, owned 27 pairs of silk stocks imported from Spain, and apparently, each cost the same as his valet's annual salary.

In the middle Ages, knitting really caught up in Europe. Knitting became a household profession with the increasing popularity of knitted stocks.

Apparently, by the end of the 1600s, about two million pairs of stock were shipped from Britain to other parts of Europe. England invented and perfected knitting frames and machines.

It quickly became a true craft when knitting caught up in Europe. Throughout Scotland and England, the craft flourished in the 14th and 15th centuries. Hand sewing in medieval Europe became a popular craft in the 16th century. During the middle Ages, guilds regulated the production and marketing of knitted products.

Across trade routes, knitting soon spread around the world. Seamen loved knitting, especially because it gave them something productive to do on long trips. Knitting was known in the Victorian era as a parlor, and many people knitted fine laces, bags, and clothes.

Knitting has been drifting in and out of style and was long considered an attraction for the older generation, with many grandparents knitting their children and grandchildren's jumpers and baby clothes. Nowadays, for all kinds of reasons, people of all ages are knitting, knitting garments for charity, saving money, or for fun.

With the advent of the Internet, knitting patterns can now be shared, and knitting can be debated since people from all over the world, and more people are coming back to knitting. Indeed, several celebrities are knitting.

Knitting is trendy again, and many different things can be knitted, from plain scarves to jumpers with elaborate designs.

Knitting is a fantastic craft that really doesn't need to begin with a lot of specialty items. It's not like you must run out and spend hundreds of dollars on tools or equipment; in fact, a lot of you may already have material to knit in your cupboard.

It is very fun to knit and easy to follow. When you knit the first time, I would advise you to knit a few rows before choosing a difficult pattern. I began by knitting some teddy bears and scarfs. It is exactly the same stitches and ranks, but this is the best way to learn.

Before getting started, we need to cover the materials/supplies you need to knit.

1. Knitting needles: The needles really matter when you knit because their size will depend on how loose or tight the stitches are and what type of needles are to be used depending on your style.
