PICKING UP STITCHES IN A HOLE LEFT WHILE WORKING Sometimes, while working on a pattern, youll be leaving holes, where youll pick up stitches for some body parts (neck and legs sts). Itll look, for example, like this (ch4, sk4):
It is important not to work in chain spaces, but in each chain individually (so that the other side is left unworked for making the stitches in sts). Sometimes, youll also need to make a stitch in the side of the stitch (in our example, stitches from round x, next to the chsp sts).
The arrows show where to make the stitches: So whenever the pattern calls for working in the side of the stitch, these will be the sts next to the chain space.
