Regular verbs are normally classified into three groups, according to their infinitive ending: 1. fin ir (to finish) 3. vend re (to sell) The stem of the verb is obtained by dropping the infinitive ending -er, -ir, or -re (i.e., leaving the stems parl-, fin-, and vend-).
