A Perfect Day in Singapore
9.00am
Breakfast
Kick off the day with a typical Singaporean breakfast of freshly brewed coffee with kaya toast and soft-boiled eggs at Killiney Kopitiam, an old-world coffeeshop established in 1919.
10.00am
Cultural lesson
Take a quick taxi ride to the Peranakan Museum on Armenian Street and learn about the Straits Chinese culture and heritage unique to this part of the world. There are nine permanent galleries.
12 noon
Lunch
Try Peranakan fare next door at True Blue Cuisine (47/49 Armenian Street), or Cantonese dim sum at Lei Garden at Chijmes in the City Hall district.
2.00pm
Retail therapy
Across the road from Chijmes is Raffles City Mall where you can enjoy a shopping spree. Or go underground to the CityLink Mall which will lead you to Suntec Citys Fountain of Wealth, the worlds biggest fountain. The massive shopping mall here has excellent retail outlets.
3.30pm
Sky high
Take a 30-minute observation ride on the Singapore Flyer, the worlds second-largest observation wheel, which affords a birds-eye view of the city. After the ride, take a breather at the street-food stalls below and munch on some local snacks and desserts.
