To all the fashion lovers...
A Force of Nature is a phrase that is often loosely thrown around, but if anyone needs a definition of this expression... meet Sydney Sadick. She knows how to Aim High and leave the Energizer Bunny in the dust...
Sydney had an uncanny working knowledge of the fashion industrythe designers, events, and celebrationsbefore she ever stepped foot inside the IMG offices where I worked. This is where the Daily Front Row was birthed as a publication to be given out during New York Fashion Week in the tents at Bryant Park. Thats when I first met Sydney and I hadnt realized she had already been working for the publication since her senior year in high school as an intern after she brazenly wrote to them at sixteen saying she wanted a column in the Daily. She then freelanced all through her college years while studying journalism in the School of Media and Public Affairs at George Washington University. She definitely earned that degree and has done it proud.
During college she came into the city whenever she could to attend and report on New York Fashion Week, special industry events, and parties, including covering the red carpet at the famous Met Gala. She was not shy as she introduced herself to everyone, put a recorder in their face, and asked questions. She got the soundbites and the stories, and always included my opinion in her coverage as well. She became a fixture and integral part of the press corps that followed everything and anything happening in the fashion universe.
Sydney is young, energetic, tireless, and ambitious... in the very best sense of that often-maligned word. She clearly always knew what she wanted to do, and knew what she loved: fashion, clothes, beauty, makeup, style, fitness and design. Sydney understood instinctivelyor maybe it is in her DNAhow clothes communicate self-confidence. She knew what she wanted to wear when she was in pre-school. She followed her passion from her earliest years observing her great-grandmother Helen and grandmother Hannah. Now she proudly wears pieces that she shopped in Hannahs closet such as timeless Chanel jackets and quilted gold chain handbags, and in her inimitable style combines them with her H&M or Zara leggings and tops.
Sydney also has one of the most exceptional relationships with her mother Amy, who nurtured and encouraged her and supports her at every step of her exploding career as a fashion expert on the TODAY Show, E!, Inside Edition and other broadcast shows in Washington, D.C., L.A., and beyond
I remember when Sydney made the important decision in 2018 to leave the security of her job at the Daily Front Row, where she was much loved, to branch out on her own. We were at Kings Theater in Brooklyn attending Glamour Magazines Women of the Year Awards Gala. She took me aside and said she wanted me to know shes leaving the Daily to branch out into other media and pursue being on-air. I wished her the best of luck, and said I was sorry to see her go. Little did I know what Sydney had in mind and how quickly she was going to make her mark.
Sydneys career trajectory coincided perfectly with the explosion of social media. Her energy and enthusiasm are contagious. I began following Sydneys Instagram account and Im still in awe of how she keeps up with everything and how she does it all. Shes on a plane several times a week, shes traveling to her gigs, shes packing and unpacking, shes up at the crack of dawn getting her hair and makeup done, shes in the gym with her trainer, and shes out at an event, party, trendy restaurant, or hosting an in-store event. And in between shes presenting live Instagram stories and posting her latest looks and outfits several times a day.
I am exhausted just from following her posts and her live feeds and the ever-changing wardrobe, accessories, hairstyles, and makeup looks. Sydney, I like you best au naturel with no makeup!
How she found the time to write this book is a mystery to me, but thankfully she did. Now her loyal followers and new fans can find out how she does it all. Now you too can also learn how to Aim High.
She learned that fashion can be empowering and that clothes alone wont make you look good... you have to feel good and that comes from the inside. In this book, she shares her tips on how you can use fashion to empower your life and make your dreams come true.
Shell suggest how you can purge and organize your closet and your shelves (hers display more handbags than books). Sydney will explain what black tie optional and festive dressing really mean and how to execute both from your own closet. She will also tell you how to dress for dating apps and how to live a fulfilled life you love no matter your fluctuating weight. Youll learn how to mix high and low... as her TV segments never include a garment over one hundred dollars. Youll read all about wearing shapewear, shopping vintage and resale, and packing all these clothes.
Aim High is fun to read, heart-filled, and accessible. Its a guide to finding your own voice and personal style and maximizing it to the hilt so you too can Aim High like Sydney Sadick did.
A woman is never sexier than when she is comfortable in her clothes.

I ve always been comfortable and confident with my personal style and fashion choices, but lets face it, its not this way for everyone. We all come in different shapes and sizes and have our own insecurities, but regardless, we strive to bring personal style out from within and present the best versions of ourselves to the world. While most people have some sort of an idea of how they want to look, making it a reality can be as challenging as overcoming your biggest fears. At a young age, I became the unofficial fashion EMT for my friends and family. No matter what the fashion 911 crises are, to this day they feel comfortable coming to me knowing I will solve their emergencies. Thats what on-call doctors are for, right?! Last minute Bumble date with nothing to wear? No problema quick FaceTime call later and Im virtually in my friends closet and can assemble an outfit within minutes! She ends up looking effortless and fun, even though behind-the-scenes we just mad-dashed to create a great first impression. Going on a vacation and want to bring some new pieces but have a limited budget to spend? Easy! Its all about creatively repurposing your pieces and adding a few pops of new in ways that most wouldnt have the slightest clue how to nail.
