When you read the word wraps you may wonder, Doesn't that mean fall/winter clothes and fabrics that are tricky to handle? Or you might think, Attaching a lining seems hard to do. But you dont have to to worry about any of that with this book! Ive created simple and easy garments that can be worn year round, and are divided into five categories: Straight Cuts, Capes, Accessories, Dolman Sleeves and Regular Sleeves. For some of the projects, the variations are subtle. For example, pattern O is a shortened version of pattern N . And pattern R shows the same pattern sewn up in two different fabrics. If youre new to sewing, I recommend easing in with a cape or poncho.
But whatever you choose to make, I hope youll have fun sewing and wearing your lovely handmade clothes! Basic instructions About Sizing The garments in this book can be made in four sizes: 7, 9, 11, 13 (except for patterns that use the same measurements for all sizes). Please choose the pattern to fit your size by referring to the measurements in the chart below. The height is the same for all patterns, so please alter the hem length according to your preference. Any four consecutive numbers within the text or diagrams correspond to sizes 7, 9, 11 and 13. PLEASE NOTE: Measurements are given in both inches and metrics.
Metric measurements are more precise, and using them, if possible, will give you a better cut, drape and fit.

About Materials and Cutting the Pattern Pieces The yardage for fabrics listed in the book is adequate for all sizes 7-13. Certain pattern pieces are not provided, such as sleeve ruffles or rectangular bodice pieces. You will need to either draft pattern pieces yourself or draw them out directly on fabrics using the measurements provided. When cutting out pattern pieces, the placement on the fabric may differ depending on sizing. To confirm that there is enough fabric, lay out all pattern pieces onto the fabric prior to cutting them out.
The length of the bias tape needed will vary depending on the sizing. Reference the cutting layout chart for each pattern and also measure the specific areas that will require binding, such as the neckline or sleeve opening, to ensure that the bias tape is long enough.
