Why I Wrote This Book
Because I think it's important for people to understand why they should communicate with their pets. Many animals don't understand what we want from them, and if we make it clear by communicating with them through training and treats and positive reinforcement, your relationship with your dog will be stronger than ever.
That's the relationship every time deserves, and if you don't plan on treating your dog like a friend and companion, you probably shouldn't be getting a dog in the first place. This book is to help everybody to learn why it's important to communicate with their dogs and how. I think that it's very important, and that's when I wrote it.
What You Need To Know Before Reading This Book
Before you read this, you need to know right away that it is never okay to abuse you. You should never cream or harm them in any way because it will not teach them anything. At the most it will make them distrustful or angry at you, and sometimes even them. A fearful dog turns into an aggressive dog, so train them the right way and avoid losing your temper.
Animal abuse is never okay and should never be normalized. Using fear is a terrible way to train your dog. It makes them respect you less and be more likely to turn on you or on somebody else to let out their anger and aggression. Anybody who is abused will be more likely to snap at someone else, and that is a sad and horrible state of affairs. Don't put your dog in a situation where it is likely to snap, because dogs that snap are dogs that get put down to sleep because of the horrible way their humans treated them. It isn't fair for them and it is very wrong.
Overall, keep in mind that getting a pet is a lot more than having something around to cuddle with. Taking in a pet is not a novelty and should never be treated as such. It is a serious responsibility and should be taken very seriously. Learn how to communicate with your dog so that both of you can have a great life together and stick with one another through thick and thin, because you earned it, not because they are scared not to do what you say.
Chapter 1: Sit
Is one of the most common tricks we changed our pets. Dogs can benefit from this trick in many ways, and the more willing we are to teach them how to sit and exercise their patients, the more likely they are to have a happy life and know that you, the pack leader, are looking out for them.
Seating is probably the easiest one to teach a dog. All you have to do is say sit! I their bomb until they get the idea. Once they're sitting on the ground, give them a treat to reinforce their good learning and reward them for doing it right. They won't really understand it first, but soon they will get the hang of it. Just be consistent.
Practice this with them for about 5 to 10 every day, soon they will know exactly how to sit on command. You can reward them for a while, but gradually you can win them from the rewards so they will sit on command without expecting anything in return.
Chapter 2: Back Up
