Slip on your party shoes and lets celebrate!
the editors
Were serving up expert tips and tricks
to make sure youre on top of your game
before you even seal and stamp the
first invitation.
The surefire way to make your soire stand out? Its all about the DIY (do it yourself). Those tiny, unique-to-you touches are what your guests will be chatting about long after they go homeand will officially land you the party queen crown. Putting a little effort into the planning and prep of your party means you and your guests will have that much more of a blast. And is there any better reward than that?
The most important part of any celebration? Making sure you and your guests have an amazing night. The key is that the bash comes off without a hitch through preliminary planning. Psst: Even party planning pros use a handy checklist to help them stay organized. Carve one out a couple days ahead so you can be sure youre stocked up on things like plates, cups and napkins, and whatever snacks and drinks youll be buying or making. The day before, make a list of all the things that need to be done before people arrive, like cleaning the house and hanging up any decorations. The day of, cross off any last-minute items, like arranging the furniture and setting the food table. Want extra brownie points? Offer to vacuum the living room for Mom or help Dad tidy up the basement. After all, offering the rents a little assistance is a nice way to say thanks for letting you have a party in the first place!
