So many people have loved me and hurt me in life. Some of this pain has led to my greatest gifts and achievements, while some of the nicest things that people have done for me, has led to the worst consequences.
Thank you all for teaching me not to judge.
I love you all.
About the Book
Masculine and Feminine Polarity Work is inspired by many sources, from the present day and stretching back thousands of years, into the Vedas (sacred knowledge) and Advaita teachings (non-dualism). This book explores their application in modern life as a framework for self-development and to align our physical, mental, and emotional bodies.
Working with the fundamental building blocks of life, we learn how to move beyond judgements, raise our vibration and use the laws of polarity and duality and vibration and attraction for personal and planetary transformation. Utilising these universal laws through Masculine and Feminine Polarity Work, makes them easy to apply in our families, relationships, at work and in a range of therapy, coaching, healthcare, and rehabilitation settings.
This book is not designed to give answers or tell us how to live life. It is designed to help us look at life from a different perspective, bringing in more emotional awareness and helping us to find our own answers.
By understanding evolution, through the concept of polarity and duality in relation to the law of attraction, we recognise the current integration of opposing traits within ourselves. We use our inner masculine and inner feminine dynamics to change, develop and evolve each other: like an inner marriage. As we explore the polarity and duality within ourselves, we come to see that the foundations of life and what holds reality together are paradoxical and forever changing. The more we understand these paradoxical contradictions, the more we come to understand ourselves.
Introduction
This book serves as a guide, to help you navigate polarity, duality, and your own evolution:
This book is abstract, giving overlying principles and concepts, that should be coloured with your own life experiences and unique understandings.
This book is practical, and you can start using the maps contained within it immediately, beginning to change your inner masculine and feminine dynamics.
The four maps (which can be downloaded and printed from www.polaritywork.com)
The Masculine and Feminine Mirror
Devolving the Masculine and Feminine
Evolving the Masculine and Feminine
And the immature shadow
Outline how to move between our masculine and feminine polarities in order to evolve ourselves and help others evolve, finding more integration in life by first acknowledging our separation. Glancing at the maps, we might think the point is to move out of our immature values, but it is not. The maps express a constant contradiction of life: in that each time we understand or experience life from one perspective, our understanding of the whole must change. We will come to understand that many of these immature traits are needed and have a healthy expression, such as competition and how often the line between right, wrong, good, and bad is simply a judgement. The maps guide us towards making all expressions of our masculine and feminine healthy, but still allowing in a little darkness and shadow as this is what helps us evolve.
If you only print one, make sure it is, The Masculine and Feminine Mirror, as this contains all the information in it once you have learned how to read it. Use it in self- development, romantic relationships, partnerships, with children, your friends, and colleagues. Use it to manage a business and manage your staff. Every time you notice an immature expression in yourself, take out these maps and see what lessons you can learn by looking at both the polarity and duality of the situation.
Its best to read this book from start to finish, but if you wanted to, you could skip to the, Physical, Mental & Emotional Bodies section and then come back to the, The Mature, The Immature and The Shadow. It is useful to read the Glossary early on as this helps frame concepts as they are used in the book, such as subconscious, unconscious, and collective consciousness.
Remember that our immature traits and values, as
described in the maps, are not necessarily bad but need to be developed. The process is about judging-less and coming to a naturally evolving state of health and balance.
A Note on the Use of Language, Gender & Not Always Being Politically Correct
Masculine and Feminine Polarity Work, gives us a lens to better understand ourselves, our relationships to others, our relationship to the world, and the dualistic nature of life. By constantly looking at all these relationships through the masculine and feminine lens, we have a powerful framework for personal growth and transformation that ultimately allows us to better integrate as a whole person. Masculine and Feminine Polarity Work recognizes that we all have an inner masculine and an inner feminine that is not dependent on gender. This book mostly explores life through individuals who identify with the expression connected to their gender: so, a heterosexual masculine man and a heterosexual feminine woman. However, as you read further you will see how the labels and methods of explaining are not as important as the concepts being conveyed. Terms like he and his, and she and hers, will be used even though masculinity and femininity are not bound by gender. If this triggers a negative reaction in you, try replacing the masculine he, and his, with Yang and feminine she, and hers, with Yin.
Sometimes we will look at situations from the male, masculine perspective, and other times from the female, feminine perspective. Most of the time, it will not matter which way round we use the example: just change it in your head to suit your gender and your personal masculine and feminine preferences. The concepts discussed can be applied to the eight possible arrangements of masculinity and femininity in couples of the same or different gender. For example:
A masculine man and a feminine woman
A feminine man and masculine woman
A masculine man and a feminine man, and so on, and so forth.
It also applies to couples, who are balanced and fluid in their expressions of masculinity and femininity, and couples where one partner is well balanced and the other predominantly one way.
Self-development work of this nature is relevant to all individuals, in all types of relationships: we can be gay, straight, bi, lesbian, or transgender. A hermaphrodite, third gender, or someone who identifies with both genders, or gender fluid. Non-binary or demigender people might find some of the concepts in this book alien but are encouraged to take from it what is useful.
