ABOUT THIS GUIDE
When writing and designing this book, we had you in mind. Maybe youre a first-time visitor to the Walt Disney World Resort, or perhaps youve frequented it for many years. Wherever you come from and whatever your experience, we wanted to provide a complete guide from start to finish, while giving a critique of the attractions and restaurants in the resort. In fact, the entire purpose of this guide is to give real advice covering the many attractions, restaurants, and hotels from the Disney World Resort and beyond.
Who are we? Well, were theme park enthusiasts who spend a lot of time gathering first-hand knowledge and experiences from all around the world. In fact, weve visited every single Disney Resort, including the new Shanghai Disneyland, because we love them so much. In other words, advice in this guide is crafted from trial and errorand were passing the fruits of our hard work onto you!
The Walt Disney World Resort is a constantly changing place. From exciting themed dining to limited-time thrilling attractions, sometimes we can never imagine what might be coming next! Since experiences come and go, we also invite you to subscribe to our free e-mail list for up-to-date travel information.
Keep in mind that this guide is an unofficial edition, meaning that we are not sponsored or employees of the Walt Disney Company, the Disneyland Resort, or the Walt Disney World Resort, and nor have we ever been. We are simply fans of the Walt Disney World Resort who are giving an honest opinion on what it has to offer!

FOR RETURN VISITORS
The Walt Disney World Resort is a constantly changing place. From exciting themed dining to limited-time attractions, we can never imagine what might be coming next! If you havent been to WDW in ten years, this guide is a great fit.
However, If you go every week, you probably wont learn much. That, of course, doesnt mean that you wont learn anything , but youre likely already a pro and a guide to a park thats basically your second home wont be much use. Still, if youre curious, we welcome you along for the ride!

THE HISTORY
Four years after opening his iconic Disneyland Resort in Southern California, Walt Disney started a new dream: to create something bigger to enchant the globe. In essence, he wanted to build more than a land Walt wanted a world !
In 1964, that dream was planted like a seed which would eventually grow into the massive, enchanting tree of reality. Originally nicknamed the covert Florida Project, Disney secretively bought nearly 30,000 acres of marsh, swamps, and groves in central Florida. Unfortunately, the next year, Walt Disney passed away. Luckily for all of us, his brother, Roy, kept Walts dream alive.
By 1969, the secret was out, and construction began on the Magic Kingdom, Floridas version of Disneyland. Orlandos massive 189-foot (56 meters) Cinderella Castle towers far beyond Disneylands Sleeping Beauty Castlewhich is only 77 feet (23 meters). In October of 1971, Walt Disney World opened its gates to visitors, bringing classic attractions like Peter Pans Flight, its a small world, and the Jungle Cruise!
