FJs Tribute to Carole
There was a little Texas gal
Who came to California and found a special pal.
With lovely hair of gold and eyes of blue
My heart to her she drew.
Two hearts so in love
This kind is from God above.
Now as much of life has passed
Through storms of health that last and last
But Gods comforts here even in the stormy blasts.
But the time has come
My dear love, let us look at what God has done.
Two blessed joys, our sons
Their delightful wives into the family have come.
Seven precious grandbabies from heaven sent
We pray daily their hearts to Gods will be bent.
At last my lifes companion, eleven there are
To love, pray for, and adore
As forward, we tread the way to heavens shore.
Thank You, Lord, for this wife I love
She has meant more to us
than family or friend can ever know
she has suffered more pain than her body did show.
Thank You, Abba,
the lovingest wife You gave
You sent from heaven to earth below
From me to you, Carole
Your loving husband, FJ.
Caroles Tribute to FJ
Twelve short years.
Twelve years to walk side-by-side with you, FJ.
Twelve years to select activities using any criteria.
Twelve years to engage in energetic activities.
Twelve years for ordinary social interaction.
Twelve short years of normal family life.
And then the storms...
FJ, we had a great marriage for those first twelve years. Over forty years of storms have transformed it into an awesome union. Your love has been tried severely and found to be pure.
Our life has not turned out as we envisioned it. Too many years
of pushing my wheelchair when we should have been walking side-by-side,
of leaving me at home while you attended meetings, shopped, or went to our sons functions alone,
of undertaking my responsibilities,
of doing so many little things for me,
of standing helplessly by while I endured unfixable pain.
Yet you stayed close to God, remained faithful, and retained your sense of humor. You supported and enabled me to keep on keeping on.
Our life has not always been pain, though. We have two exceptional sons and two awesome daughters-in-law. And now, seven incredible grandchildren. Wonderful extended families and warm friendships. Shared memories of beautiful vacations.
Thank you, FJ, for our life.
Thank You, God, for FJ.
For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11
