Omega size #2 nylon (300 yds per spool):

1 spool #56 straw

Size 6/1.80mm steel crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge

Tapestry needle

6-inch round gold metal ring

8mm round beads: 7 gold fluted

2-inch-long pendant: 2 gold metal feathers

Clear-drying craft glue

Stitch marker


Gauge

41 chs = 4 inches

Pattern Notes

Weave in loose ends as work progresses.

Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

You will be working in continuous rounds; when it states to join at end of round, mark joining stitch as first stitch of next round.

Finished piece will stretch slightly to fit snugly on craft ring.

Special Stitch

Larks Head Knot: Fold strand in half. Going from front to back, place fold over ring pulling fold down far enough in back of ring so that fold is visible below the ring. Going from front to back, push yarn ends through lp formed by fold. Pull yarn ends to tighten.

Rnd 1 (RS): Ch 18, join(see Pattern Notes) in first ch to form a ring, [ch 3, sl st in ring] 17 times, ch 3, place stitch marker(see Pattern Notes), do not turn this or any rnd. (18 ch sps)

Rnd 2: [Ch 5, sl st in next ch-3 sp] 17 times, ch 5, join in beg ch-5 sp.

Rnd 3: [Ch 7, sl st in next ch-5 sp] 17 times, ch 7, join in beg ch-7 sp.

Rnd 4: [Ch 9, sl st in next ch-7 sp] 17 times, ch 9, join in beg ch-9 sp.

Rnd 5: [Ch 11, sl st in next ch-9 sp] 17 times, ch 11, drop lp from hook, leaving 14-foot length, fasten off. Pull 14-foot length and dropped lp through 1 bead, place dropped lp back on hook, join in beg ch-11 sp.

Rnd 6: [Ch 6, sl st around metal ring, ch 6, sl st in next ch-11 sp] 17 times, ch 6, sl st around metal ring, ch 6, join in same ch-11 sp as beg ch-6. Fasten off.

Beads & Feathers

Cut 2 strands of yarn each 12 inches long.

Holding metal ring so that bead is at top right, Larks Head Knot(see Special Stitch) with each strand at bottom of metal ring so that strands are 3 inches apart (each Larks Head Knot creates 2 loose strands).

For each Larks Head Knot:

Place 3 beads on one strand so that first bead is inch from metal ring, then tie several knots below last bead to hold beads in place.

Place feather on other strand so that top of feather is at same height as bottom bead then tie several knots to hold feather in place.

Trim ends then apply a little glue over knots to secure in place.

Hanger

Cut 12-inch strand of yarn, tie center of yarn to top of ring making 2 strands each 6 inches long. Holding both strands tog, tie overhand knot 2 inches from ring. Trim ends, apply little glue over knot. Skill Level Finished Measurement 12 inches in diameter not including - photo 5

12-inch round wood embroidery hoop

6 8mm AB pony beads: 190 black

Star-shaped pony beads: 2 see-through turquoise, 1 opaque turquoise

10mm oval wood beads: 4 light brown

56-inch-long feathers: 3 peacock natural feather picks by Fancy Feathers, 4 turquoise, 3 iridescent black

Clear-drying craft glue

Stitch marker
