Shampoo Recipes
Basic Shampoo
This shampoo is good for normal hair.
RECIPE 1
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup liquid castille soap
- 1/4 cup distilled water
- 1/2 tsp grapeseed, jojoba or any light oil
- 6 oz foaming or flip cap bottle, to dispense & store
Preparation
- Combine all ingredients in a dispensing bottle and shake well to mix.
- Use as you would a commercial shampoo.
- Store away from sunlight and shake before use.
- It can last up to a month.
This shampoo isnt as thick as the ones sold commercially but it lathers a lot!
RECIPE 2
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 cup liquid castille soap
- 1/8 cup honey
- 1/4 olive oil
- 6 oz foaming or flip cap bottle, to dispense & store
Preparation
- Combine all ingredients in a dispensing bottle and shake well to mix.
- Use as you would a commercial shampoo.
- Store away from sunlight and shake before use.
RECIPE 3
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 cup liquid castille soap
- 1 cup distilled water
- 1/2 tsp grapeseed, jojoba or any light oil
- 7 drops essential oil of choice
- 1/8 cup aloe vera gel
- 6 oz foaming or flip cap bottle, to dispense & store
Preparation
- Combine all ingredients in a dispensing bottle and shake well to mix.
- Use as you would a commercial shampoo.
- Store away from sunlight and shake before use.
Stimulating Shampoo
If you need a shampoo to stimulate your scalp and senses, this formula is for you.
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup liquid castille soap
- 1/4 cup distilled water
- 2 tsp jojoba oil
- 10 drops peppermint essential oil
- 10 drops tea tree essential oil
- 6 oz foaming or flip cap bottle, to dispense & store
Preparation
- Combine all ingredients in a dispensing bottle and shake well to mix.
- Use as you would a commercial shampoo.
- Store away from sunlight and shake before use.
- It can last up to a month.
This shampoo is so refreshing!
Quenching Shampoo
This shampoo is for dry hair.
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup liquid castille soap
- 1/4 cup distilled water
- 1 tsp glycerine
- 1/4 cup aloe vera gel
- 1/4 tsp jojoba or avocado oil
- 6 oz foaming or flip cap bottle, to dispense & store
Preparation
- Combine all ingredients in a dispensing bottle and shake well to mix.
- Use as you would a commercial shampoo.
- Store away from sunlight and shake before use.
- It can last up to a month.
Apply shampoo to hair, wash and leave to sit for a few minutes. Rinse off with cool water.
Soothing Shampoo
This shampoo has a calming effect on the scalp and hair.
Preparation Time: 25 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 cup liquid castille soap (lavender scent)
- 1 cup distilled water
- 1 1/2 tbsp glycerine
- 6 chamomile tea bags
- 6 oz foaming or flip cap bottle, to dispense & store
Preparation
- Steep teabags in 1 cup hot water for 20 minutes.
- Remove tea bags and discard.
- Add castille soap to tea and stir in glycerine until well combined.
- Pour into bottles and store away from sunlight. Shake before use.
De-flaking Shampoo
This shampoo treats dandruff, removing flakes from the scalp.
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup liquid castille soap
- 1/4 cup distilled water
- 1/2 tsp grapeseed, jojoba or any light oil
- 3 tbsp apple juice
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 6 finely ground garlic cloves
- 6 oz foaming or flip cap bottle, to dispense & store
Preparation
- Process all ingredients in a small blender till smooth.
- Pour into bottles and store in refrigerator. Use within 3 days.
To use, wet hair with warm water and shampoo mixture into hair. Leave for a few minutes and rinse with warm water.
Radiance Shampoo
Do you want a lively and shiny hair? This recipe is for you.
Preparation Time: 25 minutes
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup liquid castille soap (lemon scent)
- 1/4 cup distilled water
- 2 tbsp sweet almond oil
- 2 tbsp dried rosemary
- 1/4 tsp lemon essential oil
- 6 oz foaming or flip cap bottle, to dispense & store
Preparation
- Boil distilled water and add in rosemary leaves. Steep until fragrant.
- Strain leaves and leave to cool.
- Mix all other ingredients together and add to water. Stir to mix.
- Store in bottle and use as desired.
Rejuvenating Shampoo
This shampoo brings life to your hair and it is suitable for all hair types.
Preparation Time: 25 minutes
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup liquid castille soap
- 1/4 cup distilled water
- 3 tsp rosemary
- 1/2 tsp jojoba or grapeseed oil
- 1 tsp vanilla essential oil
- 1 tsp lemon grass
- 2 tsp tea tree oil
- 6 oz foaming or flip cap bottle, to dispense & store
Preparation
- Boil distilled water and add in rosemary and lemon grass. Steep until fragrant.
