Whether its to bring the outside season in or to celebrate a festival or special occasion, a garland or wreath offers the perfect way to add a very unique touch to your home. Wreaths and garlands can be as simple and minimalist or as detailed and abundant as you choose. They can be personalized with favorite colors, flowers, and leaves; what could be better than receiving something beautifully handmade as a birthday, Christmas or thank you present. One of the very first garlands I made was a simple raffia-based garland covered in ivory roses for my daughters wedding, and there is truly something very special about being able to create something handmade and lasting for a wonderful family celebration. In this book I have created a wide selection of designs for many different occasions, and I hope it will not only be a book that you come back to many times but will also inspire you to create your own designs for wreaths and garlands that are personal to you.
In our home we now have quite a collection that are brought out at different times of the year to decorate our home. There are not many bare shelves or mantelpieces in our house! I have given each design in the book a skill rating so that, whatever your level of crochet, you will be able to crochet away to your hearts content. One of the simplest designs is the Birthday Wreath (on ). I could happily have made the tiny little gingerbread men and candy canes for ever, and there may well be a few hung on our family tree this Christmas. Remember there are no rules with wreaths and garlandsthe world is your oyster, whether in color, design, or occasion. Happy crocheting! ![As the nights draw in theres something very comforting about the golden fall - photo 8](/uploads/posts/book/339406/images/p7-01.jpg)
