Coping with the Psychological Effects of Cancer

Professor Robert Bor, DPhil, CPsychol, CSci, FBPsS, UKCP Reg, FRAeS, is a Chartered Clinical, Counselling and Health Psychologist registered with the Health Professions Council as well as a Family Therapist. He is the Consulting Psychologist at two of the UKs leading cancer treatment and research centres, the London Oncology Clinic and the London Clinic. In the NHS, he is the Lead Consultant Psychologist in Medical Specialties at the Royal Free Hospital in London. Rob has a very busy private therapy practice based in North and Central London, trading as Dynamic Change Consultants. He is a Fellow of the British Psychological Society, a member of the American Psychological Association, Institute of Family Therapy and the American Association for Marital and Family Therapy. Robs expertise and experience is in helping children, young people and adults cope with cancer in the family. He works therapeutically with individuals, couples and families, drawing on modern, evidence-based psychological approaches. He is also the Consulting Psychologist to St Pauls School, JFS and the Royal Ballet School, all in London. He is an active member of the International Psycho-Oncology Society. Rob has published more than 170 articles and chapters in books as well as 25 books. He teaches communications skills to medical and nursing students. Rob is a Churchill Fellow.

Dr Carina Eriksen, MSc, DPsych, C.Psychol, BABPC acc, is an experienced Counselling Psychologist with a specific interest in helping individuals, couples and families deal with cancer-related concerns. Carina works in the NHS as well as in private practice. She provides therapy to adults, adolescents, children and families, drawing on her speciality within Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Systemic Orientations. She is a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society and an Accredited Member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies. She is a senior lecturer in Psychology at Roehampton University. Carina is an author and a co-author of several books and her work has been published in scientific journals.

Ceilidh Stapelkamp is a health research analyst with a special interest in public health. Ceilidh has an honours degree in Genetics and Microbiology and has completed a programme of post-graduate courses in Public Health, including Epidemiology, Statistics, Infectious Diseases and Evidence-based Medicine, at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She was recently awarded a Masters in Public Health from Kings College School of Medicine in London where she undertook research into the survival of women with breast cancer in the UK. Ceilidh has lectured with the Open University, has been involved in primary mental health research and was an NHS programme coordinator for a project to deliver child and adolescent community mental health services in Camden.
