CONTENTS Introduction 10 19 Glossary This will feature a map of the hands and explain the terminology you need to understand for this section.22 Fingertip Mind Reading Its rare to find a magic effect that everyone can participate in, whether youre in a theatre of a thousand people or just performing for a friend. But this is such a miracle. Despite having your back turned (or even performing the effect over the phone), you perfectly guess which finger the entire audience have selected. 28 H2Oooooo You reveal a participants thought-of playing card by causing the label on a water bottle to transform before their eyes. 34 Martial Arts Magic Borrow a banknote from a friend and immediately stab your finger through it! Then cause the hole to heal like magic. 40 Ringmaster Thread a borrowed rubber band through a borrowed ring and cause the ring to move, on its own, from one end of the rubber band to the other. 42 Ad Alive You display some ads torn from magazines, and cause the coins displayed on a photo in an advert to become real!58 Freeze A bottle of water is displayed. When you tap the bottle, it visibly freezes right before the eyes of the audience. They can immediately examine the solid, frozen bottle of ice. 60 Coincealed You remove several objects from your pocket (a coin, a pen, a watch and nail clippers) and ask a participant to think of any one. You reveal that the objects themselves spell out the chosen item. 66 Floatinggum You show chewinggum between your teeth, spit it out into the air and, miraculously, it flies 360 degrees around your head and back into your mouth.
72 Pen Through Coin A glass bottle, a pen and a coin are displayed. The coin is balanced on top of the opening of the bottle so that it entirely covers the opening. You then cause a pen to pass through the coin, landing inside the bottle. Immediately after you perform the effect, everything is examinable. 76 Postcard Power Twenty postcards are displayed and one is freely chosen. The backs are then all shown to be blank except for the chosen one, which is inscribed with a personal message to the participant, including their name. 82 Headliner You predict a freely-chosen word from a newspaper. 86 Superhuman Strength To prove your superhuman strength, you calmly place your hands together and ask the strongest-looking person in the room simply to separate them. No matter how big they are or how small you are, you prove your superhuman strength by keeping your hands together. 88 Superfood In a feat of superhuman strength, you break a borrowed apple into two pieces.90 Banana Split A spectator holds a banana and imagines cutting it into pieces with a knife. Without touching the banana, you invite them to peel the banana to discover that it is neatly sliced into five small pieces. 94 Celeb Spotting You show your spectators a magazine and open it to a page full of photos of celebrities. You hand it to a participant, along with a pen, and ask them to hold the magazine behind their back and to draw a circle anywhere on the page. You open your wallet to show that you have a photo of the exact celebrity the participant circled.
CONTENTS cont 101 Glossary This will feature a map of the hands and explain the terminology you need to understand for this section.124 The Dream Card A participant deals through the deck, and amazingly stops at a card you predicted in advance. 128 Sweet! You ask a participant to shuffle the cards if you fail to amaze them, youll give them a chocolate bar. The effect appears to go wrong until you point out that they have shuffled the cards into the precise order to match the numbers on the barcode on the chocolate bar. Sweet!130 True Mates You help a couple (or two friends) find each others selected cards in an impossible way. 136 Home-made Deck its a deck made from notecards, with drawings of each card on one side. Someone selects one of these home made cards, but you fail to find it. To redeem yourself, you knock all the index cards out of the participants hand, and cause the actual chosen playing card to appear between the participants fingers. 142 Instant Kings A participant selects a card (say, the King of Hearts) and you then show your elite cardsharp abilities by finding the other three Kings in increasingly impressive ways.102 See-Through You ask someone to sit on any playing card while your back is turned. When you turn around you ask them to look up and open their mouth. You are able to look into their mouth, through their body, and see what card they are sitting on. 106 Finding Four Aces A participant thoroughly shuffles the deck and then places it into your pocket. By feel alone, you quickly sift through the deck (without looking) and remove the Aces, one by one. 108 Magicians Assistant Ever wanted to have me do a card effect for you? How about me helping you with a card effect for your friends? You invite a friend to select a card from the pack, and then play a video of me on your mobile. Together, well manage to find the chosen card! 112 Wallet Wonder This simple and powerful effect uses just four cards, and its the perfect effect to keep in your wallet. 118 Mobile Magic You invite a participant to shuffle packets of cards face up and face down, creating a big mess. Unexpectedly, the participant precisely shuffles the pack so that all the face-up cards correspond to your mobile phone number!
148 Card in Shoe Cause a participants selected card to appear in your shoe!154 Cheating at Blackjack Ever wanted to cheat in a casino? This is the next best thing and you never even touch the deck. You ask a participant to shuffle a deck of cards and then bet them some money that youll beat them at a game of Blackjack. They deal out a hand of two cards and a King! You offer to repeat it, this time upping the stakes, and you win again.158 Catch You show two cards, and then insert them very fairly into the middle of the deck. You then throw the deck from one hand to the other, and somehow you manage to catch the two cards between your hands.162 Liar You ask a spectator to call out the names of playing cards they see in the pack while you look away, and you invite them to lie to you about which one they picked. You know instantly when they are lying! 166 Blind Luck You test your compatibility with someone else by each taking half the deck under the table and selecting a card for each other. When you look at your cards, you have both selected red Queens!170 Coin Roll My favourite coin flourish where you effortlessly make a coin walk over your fingers.172 Card Throwing Learn to throw cards with amazing speed and accuracy. 174 Pendulum Cut This is a fancy flourish that looks like you thoroughly mix the deck but actually keeps the entire deck in order.180 Ribbon Spread and Turnover An instant spread and elegant reversal of a pack of cards. 184 Riffle Shuffle Learn to shuffle the cards on the table, like the dealers do in Las Vegas. 188 Card Fan This flourish allows you to display all 52 cards in one hand.
