Why Use Blood in Magic?
Blood Magic, also recognized as Blood Sorcery, is an ancient and severe kind of magic. This mystical but forbidden magic is used to cast spells and charms. Curses created with blood, the very bodily fluid, which is the influential strength and the essence of life in the working of magic, are potent. It may be a representation of a sacrifice. Still, it may also be the loss of life that sustains the spell. Blood magic is also generally practiced in Blood Rituals.
Some blood may be made to be more potent than others. Common types are human blood, the casters own blood, the blood of royalty, an extraordinary family lineage, a youths blood, or a virgins blood. Sometimes simply a particular individuals blood has power, and any other blood is ineffective.
Every participant has the natural strength within their blood to feed the magic. This is an ancestral perspective that predates word-based magic and is thought by some to be more powerful. Blood Magic is sorcery based on blood usage, a significant ingredient in many rituals, spells, and other supernatural nature situations.
The first point you need to understand about blood magic is that its not naturally evil. Some people incorrectly assume that using blood in magic is mysterious or somehow only linked with malicious intentions. This is honestly not true.
The negative undertones begin back to that fear of blood. Fear of our own mortality, fear of authority, etc., are the kind of driving factors behind a fear of blood. Indeed, if you are afraid of blood, you might prefer to bypass blood altogether. Its not for everybody.
But blood is like any item you would need in magic. Its a potent tool, but a tool nonetheless. Its neither compassionate nor malicious in its own right. You could use it for whatever goals. Like any other object or tool, its not advised to use it for unethical purposes.
Blood magic works because of the link between an individuals living blood and their fundamental nature. While conjurers argue over the specific nature of this relation, whether or not it expresses a persons spirit or something less metaphysical, what is undeniable is that the blood carries a mystical tie to a persons fundamental elements. When blood is spilled, it is conceivable to produce the magic that takes on that individuals essential aspects and form mystical bonds with them.
