D o you spend all your allowance on nail polish Do you wear lipstick to sleep - photo 2

D o you spend all your allowance on nail polish? Do you wear lipstick to sleep? Have you been tempted to give your cat a makeover? Then youre in the right place. Youre crazy for cosmetics, and we dont blame you a bit. Theres just something about makeup. Maybe its because it has the power to transform. Maybe its an arty color thing. Or maybe its just that its shiny and sparkly. Makeup is like magic, and Crafty Girl: Makeup is here to help you make the most of it.

Lets begin by admitting that makeup isnt as important as, say, world peace. It isnt life-changing, and its certainly not necessary. Youre beautiful without it. But makeup is fun. Its as exciting as paintball and a whole lot easier to clean up. Like paintball, its not necessarily something youll want every day. But for special occasions and boring afternoons, theres nothing better. Some people like bowling. Us, we like blush.

Maybe youre an absolute beginner. Maybe youre a makeup maven. No matter what your background, Crafty Girl: Makeup has some pretty pointers for you. The tips in Beauty Basics are sure to teach you a trick or two. Well let you in on the secrets to gorgeous skin, shapely brows, smoldering eyes, and lovely lips. Learn what to buy and how to use it. In your hands, Miss Crafty Girl, these tools and techniques are sure to lead to makeup masterpieces.

Makeup isnt always about looking made-up, though. The faces in Natural Looks will ensure that you look pretty instead of painted. Learn to create simple daytime looks like the classic Clean Teen face will put you in the pink of health. And if anyone asks how you do it, just say youre naturally this gorgeous.

. Mrowwwwwr.

When you start getting bored by looking so beautiful all the time, the faces in Masquerade will show you how to look like someone else entirely. Sport Nile style as a kohl-rimmed Cleopatra . Its like an exotic vacation for your face.

Makeup is even more fun when you make it yourself. The projects in Make Your Own Makeup will help you do just that. Turn your . Youll look beautiful and smart.

Youre at the wheel of this makeup-mobile. Take these ideas and make them your own. The projects are just guidelinesyou should feel free to improvise to better suit your own taste and features. Maybe you feel naked without eyeliner or overdressed with blush. Maybe youd rather be In the Peach than In the Pink. Maybe you think Cleopatra would have looked better in sparkly magenta lipstick. For the record, we agree.

So get your glitter and your gloss, and go nuts. The best thing about makeup is that its only skin deep. Its okay to make a mistake. A bad hair decision can take months to correct, but makeup mistakes can be washed off in seconds. At worst, youll be out $7.99 for that orange lipstick. So go ahead and try the purple eyeshadow. If it ends up looking like you lost a fight, just wipe it off and start over. Ohand dont forget to destroy the negatives.

Youve got lips to line, brows to arch, and eyes to shadow, so lets get started. Begin by picking up some basic supplies. Your first stop is the drugstore. Take the Toolbox shopping list youre planning on making your own makeup, youll want to hit the craft store or soap-making supply store next. Pick up some glitter and beeswax and get ready to create the custom cosmetics of your dreams.

And finally, remember that the best beauty product of all is happiness. Mascara and blush are great, but nothing puts a sparkle in your eyes and a flush in your cheeks like a good time. So have fun playing around with this stuff. How could you not? Its makeup! Beautiful.

suit yourself your features Let us begin by saying that theres no such - photo 3

suit yourself:
your features

Let us begin by saying that theres no such thing as a feature flaw. So stop hating your wide eyes, your prominent nose, your expansive forehead, your full lips, or your freckles. What makes you different is what makes you beautiful, and nothing is more beautiful than self-confidence. Heres a brief guide to making the most of your fabulous features. Youll find more detailed instructions in the sections that follow.

Forehead

Some people think theirs is too big. Others think its too small. You could conceal it with bangs, but we say pshaw. Small foreheads are cute and dainty as is. Big, wide ones make you look smart. Accessorize with some stylish glasses and youll have brainy beauty.

Eyes

Play up your eyes by enhancing their natural shape. If youre lucky enough to have large eyes, frame them with a touch of dark eyeliner. If theyre small, bring them out by lining them in a light color. If theyre close-set, use shadow to emphasize the outer third of the eye. Beautiful wide-set eyes look nice when shadow emphasizes the inner third.

Nose

Everyone hates her own nose. Its either too long, too short, too pointy, too snub, too wide, or too bumpy. And its too bad, after all your nose does for you. It allows you to smell flowers and fresh cookies, and it gives you something to rest your shades on. Love your nose! If you cant, you have two options: Draw attention elsewhere, with dramatic lip or eye makeup, or contour it with a mix of foundation colors. But be warned: Contouring is really useful only for photo shoots. In daylight, your nose will just look dirty. If youve got a nose with character, consider yourself lucky. Strong features make you a rare and exotic beauty. Wed much rather be a bird-of-paradise than a boring old daisy.
