PRAISE FOR CAROL GURNEY I took a workshop with Carol Gurney many years ago - photo 1
PRAISE FOR
CAROL GURNEY

I took a workshop with Carol Gurney many years ago, and it totally turned around how I relate to animals. In this wonderful warm book, Carol will teach you the skills of communication and you will be forever grateful.

Louise L. Hay, author of You Can Heal Your Life

Carol Gurney can really express herself when it comes to teaching the art of communicating with animals. And believe me, it works! Carols HeartTalk ProgramSM goes beyond talking with animals. It is a marvelous way to expand our relationships with the animals in our lives.

Arthur Myers, author of Communicating with Animals

I first met Carol Gurney about ten years ago when I attended a talk she gave on animal communication. I was definitely impressed. She struck me as a person with both feet on the ground, and I really liked how she approached her work. I decided to have her do a reading on my own eight pets, in part to further test her skills. She came through again with flying colors. She came up with things that she could not have known by ordinary means. The rest is history. I have referred many clients to her over the years and have been happy with the results. Carol has had a profound effect on the way I viewand the way I experiencemy relationship with our furry, feathery, scaly companions and other fellow earth beings. She is a very special lady!

Kathleen M. Carson, D.V.M.

[Carol] has the ability to obtain precise information directly from the horses mouth concerning the sources of its pains and diseases. If I have a horse patient that is not improving with either conventional or alternative medicine, I might ask Carol to try to obtain some more information using her skill. Occasionally, her input has been more helpful than X rays or blood tests in arriving at a diagnosis.

Greg Ugarte, D.V.M.

The Language of Animals offers us great possibilities in deepening our connections with our kindred spirits. Carols program can help us get in touch with levels of connection beyond our normal recognition.

Allen M. Schoen, D.V.M., MS, author of Kindred Spirits and Director, Veterinary Institute for Therapeutic Alternatives

Carol has done a wonderful job of opening us up to the magic of communication with the animals in our lives. I particularly like the exercises she outlines throughout the book. They provide the reader with the key to open the door into a new way of seeing the animals around us and coming to understand them better.

Faith Maloney Director, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary

Carol has not only been a liaison to my clients in helping them communicate with their animal friends, but she has also helped me to hear that voice within that speaks to us all.

Karen S. Martin, D.V.M.

[Carol has] certainly brought the awareness about animal communication to many more thousands of pet owners and veterinarians. [Her] skill will save lives and provide the understanding for the pet owners, helping them to make the best decision.

Roger W. Valentine, D.V.M.

Carols style of teaching is simple, clear, and down-to-earth. She is a gifted teacher with a gentle and caring soul, and she makes it easy to learn how to communicate with animals in a safe, supportive, and loving environment. Her workshops are incredible to experience. It was so much more than I ever would have expected from any workshop. It was truly a heart-opening experience.

Linda Gray (actress)

The work that Carol Gurney does, helps connect people to their pets, thus making the bond stronger and more meaningful.

Alice Villalobos, D.V.M.

I dedicate this book to my beloved animals Soleil Tallanny Dudley Scooter - photo 2

I dedicate this book to my beloved animals, Soleil, Tallanny, Dudley Scooter, Joy Boy, and Jessie, who have taught me the most important lessons of my life.

My journey with animal communication began with my first cat, Soleil, who was in my life for sixteen years. Through our relationship, I came to have a true understanding of cats and the important lesson of learning to accept an animals true nature. Her special light guided me to investigate concepts and beliefs that I had not previously been open to.

I thank my horses, Dudley and Tallanny. Dudley taught me about strength and self-confidence. He knew exactly what he wanted in life and he achieved his dreams. Tallanny, who has been with me for eighteen years, taught me the meaning of love. Upon meeting him it was love at first sight, and by looking into his beautiful brown eyes I recognized a connection I had never felt before. It was because of his quiet strength, spirit, and wisdom that I could begin my journey of personal growth. He was, truly, the first individual who unlocked the doors to my heart. He is the best friend I have ever had and has given me the courage to believe in and trust my dreamto listen to animals heart to heart.

I thank my cat Scooter for being the orchestrator of harmony in my life for the past twenty-one years. He magically appears on my lap, knowing when I most need his grounding. In my busy life, his presence filled me with a profound sense of peace, silence, and contentment. The depth of his wisdom has been a precious jewel to me and to thousands of my students over the years.

I thank my fourteen-year-old cat, Joy Boy, whose courage, strength, and confidence has been an anchor for all of us. He was the irresistible personification of joy. The lightness of his presence brought a smile to everyones face. With his lions heart, he taught me how to set priorities and simplify my life, allowing me to let go of things that no longer serve me. I thank him for his courage and strength to be my teacher on so many levels.

I am grateful to my dog, Jessie, for her never-ending patience and loving persistence in trying to balance the elements of work and play within my life for the last nine years. Her golden qualitiesher enthusiasm and willingness to share her experiences and open her hearthave been invaluable to my students and me. Her sweet and welcoming nature brings a sense of tremendous comfort and ease to everyone she meets and teaches.

From my heart, I thank them all for the tender healing they have brought to my life over the years. They are my shining light revealing the way back home. This book would not have been possible without them.

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

Writing this book was a journey of discovery, and along the way I was blessed with the guidance of many helpful, loving, wise, and talented people. I wish to graciously thank them all for their effort and support, which made this book possible.

My first steps began with the encouragement of my consultant, Judith Pynn. She lovingly led and guided me through the process of writing a book. There was never a time she wasnt there for me with graciousness and professionalism.

I thank my assistant at the time, Sheri Davidson, for her encouragement to write this book. As she got to know my work firsthand through my workshops, her enthusiasm moved me forward in my goal of sharing the HeartTalk ProgramSM with everyone.

And this book would not be possible without the help of Sheris mother, Stella Davidson, who sat with me for countless hours critiquing my preliminary material. Where would I be without you, Stella?

I thank my agent, Jody Rein, for her speed in pulling the project together and finding me such a reputable publisher as Bantam Dell.

I thank my assistant, Karrel Christopher, for the unbelievable patience, insight, and overwhelming love she shared with all of us during such a transitional time. She is one of the most loving souls I have had the pleasure of knowing, and worked tirelessly to assure
