Welcome!
Knitting and crochet are two things I wish I had more time for in my schedule. There are so many beautiful garments you can make! When I was little, I would love watching my mom while she crocheted. It was fascinating to watch how row after row would magically turn into something special. I still have many of those pieces from my mom, along with an appreciation for the care and time it took to make them.
This special issue of DO features knitting and crochet projects you will want to make and wear! Many are on a beginner level, so they are great starter projects. But even if you are a seasoned needlecrafter, you will find yourself wanting to make some of these classically beautiful pieces. Compiled from the works of some of our favorite authors, there are sweaters to help you transition to spring ().
If you are new to knitting or crochet, weve also included the basic stitches and techniques youll need to get started. Youll notice that each of our contributors has a different approach to how they teach a project (some will need to be converted to American equivalents), and that you may not be able to find an exact yarn used, but regardless of how you get there, we know you will be pleased with your results.
Happy Needlework!
