Have you heard about Roblox ? Its not your
average video game. Roblox players can
choose from more than 40 million different
games. All of these games are created by
other Roblox users. There are about 30,000
new games added to Roblox every day. If
youre interested in game development ,
you can even make your own Roblox games.

A Long History

The first version of Roblox was released in
2006. That means it is older than Minecraft
and Fortnite ! Roblox has grown bigger and
bigger since its release. Today, more than
100 million people log on to play Roblox
games every month.

Showing Off

Streaming played a big part in making Roblox a success. Players
created amazing worlds in Roblox . Then they showed off their
creations on YouTube and other streaming sites. This inspired
millions of viewers to try the game.

Signing Up

Do you want to play Roblox ? The first thing
you need to do is sign up for an account at
www.roblox.com . Ask your parents before
you do this. Youll need to choose a
username. Pick something fun that is easy
to remember. Make sure your username
doesnt contain private information about
you. For example, dont use your real name
or the name of your hometown.

Ways to Play

Roblox is free to download. You can play it
on a variety of devices. Most players use a
Windows or Mac PC. Many others enjoy
playing on phones, tablets, and other
handheld devices. There is even a version of
Roblox for the Xbox One. This version has
fewer games to choose from than the others.

A Closer Look

Do you have an Oculus Rift or HTC Vive virtual reality system? If
so, you can try Roblox VR . This version of the game puts players
inside the three-dimensional (3D) world of Roblox . You can look
around the game world as if you were really there!

Home Sweet
Home

When you log in to Roblox , the first thing
you see is the home screen. The home
screen looks a little different in each
version of the game. However, it always has
the same basic features. Click around and
get used to the different menu screens. You
will see them a lot as you play Roblox .

Choose Your
Style

The first thing you might want to do is
change the look of your avatar . Choose
Avatar from the menu on the home
screen. Now you can change everything
from your characters hairstyle to their
clothing. You might not have a lot of choices
at first. Dont worry. You will get more as
you play.

Plenty to Play

Now choose Games from the home
screen. You will see a huge range of
choices. It can be tough to figure out where
to begin. There are racing games and action
games. Some games let you build roller
coasters. Others let you design your own
clothes. Pick anything that looks interesting.
You can always quit and try a different
game if you arent having fun.

Spending
Robux

Almost every game you try will ask you to
spend Robux at some point. Robux are
Roblox s version of money. Robux arent
required to enjoy Roblox . However, they let
players do all kinds of things. You can use
them to buy new styles for your avatar. You
can also use them to unlock special features
in different games.

Ask Before You Buy

Robux cost real money. Always get permission from a parent
before you spend money on Robux or any other video game
microtransaction .

Share Your
Adventure

One of the best parts of Roblox is having fun
with your friends. Ask your friends for their
usernames. Choose Friends from the home
screen. Then add people to your Roblox friends
list. You can also add new friends to your list by
clicking on other players during a game.
