Guitar is played in the same pitch (i.e. C or concert pitch) as piano and keyboard and so the chords are interchangeable on both instruments. This is a great site for finding songs and chords.

Teach your children well
Crosby, Stills & Nash
If you really want to help your children get them into music. Below is a list of benefits from the National Association for Music Education.
11 facts about music and children:
- Children who study music tend to have larger vocabularies and more advanced reading skills than their peers who do not participate in music.
- Children with learning disabilities or dyslexia who tend to lose focus with more noise could benefit greatly from music lessons.
- Music programs are constantly in danger of being cut from shrinking school budgets even though theyre proven to improve academics.
- Children who study a musical instrument are more likely to excel in all of their studies, work better in teams, have enhanced critical thinking skills, stay in school, and pursue further education.
- In the past, secondary students who participated in a music group at school reported the lowest lifetime and current use of all substances (tobacco, alcohol, and illicit drugs).
- Schools with music programs have an estimated 90.2% graduation rate and 93.9% attendance rate compared to schools without music education, which average 72.9% graduation and 84.9% attendance.
- Regardless of socioeconomic status or school district, students (3rd graders) who participate in high-quality music programs score higher on reading and spelling tests.
- A Stanford study shows that music engages areas of the brain which are involved with paying attention, making predictions and updating events in our memory.
- Much like expert technical skills, mastery in arts and humanities is closely correlated to a greater understanding of language components
- Young children who take music lessons show different brain development and improved memory over the course of a year, compared to children who do not receive musical training.
- Schools that have music programs have an attendance rate on 93.3% compared to 84.9% in schools without music programs.
Praise for the author
I have known Chris Lavery for over a decade and in this time Chris has continued to be a key role model and positive influencer in my life. The life lessons he has imparted either directly to me or indirectly by my observations of his life, truly continue to shape my very thoughts, choices, observations and thereby my habits on a daily basis.
Chris has always been a shining example of learning by doing. He has on regular occasion, entertained, impressed, and inspired me with his self-appointed duty of care, creativity, generosity and what can be at best described as his joie de vivre. My career success as a performing artist, business owner and entrepreneur today, I can in great clarity, directly attribute to Chris encouraging words and personal investments towards my own continued personal growth. The reason I am leading the successful life I am today as a father of two, husband and full-time creative artist, is due to the fact in no small amount that Chris showed me that it was all possible by being all these things himself.
That is what he does best. He demonstrates what can be achieved, who you can be and what you can do and what can be learned by anyone who wants to learn it. I dont think he can help it! If Chris himself learns something new, he will be the first one to want to show you how you can too can learn this new thing too!
I have watched him teach himself all sorts of new skills, from IT, art and fire twirling to, of course, his passion for music. I have literally seen with my own eyes (and more importantly, heard with my own ears!) his progression of learning music and the keyboard. Its clear to me that Chris has added a new string to his bow and was able to do this in such a short time, so I know this wont be something that Chris will want to keep to himself but rather share with whoever wants to learn how to do this too. That is his true nature and spirit. Chris is a generous soul who is keenly interested in bringing joy to other peoples lives. If you are ready to learn Chris has been waiting to teach you

Chris is a multi-talented entertainer and trainer with whom I have worked for three years. He is a fine singer and keyboardist; he also has the rather rare ability to communicate complex musical ideas in a very simple easy-to-understand way.
He has specially wanted to help people learn how to play the keyboards easily and has explained to me some great ideas on how to do so.
So this book is long overdue and I believe it will be very useful to those of us who want to play the keyboard but dont have the time to go through the long hours of doing it in the conventional way
