Ndukwes spirited storytelling makes the book worthwhile.
Kirkus Reviews
His writing is fluid, using slang and casual speech as well as some technical jargon. He employs both humor and pathos as he frankly describes his fortunes and misfortunes. His destiny has indeed proven to be audacious, as he illustrates with such incidents as being unexpectedly gifted a new car by a concerned neighbor and securing a loan for his first home purchase after doing what came naturally to himkindly assisting a lame stranger trying to crawl up a set of steps. The stranger turned out to be the realtor he had come to consult. These and other striking occurrences have brought Ndukwe to the conclusion that theres goodness in every soul waiting to be awakened. He also acknowledges that he has often been the recipient of American generosity. Today he is happily retired in New Jersey and has resolved to use his writing talents and his unique understanding of lifes surprises as a means to help others. RECOMMENDED.

This story of his life journey has a specific purpose beyond chronicling events: to chart the progression and evolution of ...the awesome Irresistible inner-power or the inner-guide we all have inside of us.
This translates to a survey that nicely juxtaposes personal experience with broader inspections of life purpose, blending philosophical and spiritual insights into a bigger picture.
The Audacity of Destiny a compelling autobiographical exploration of the roots and realities of achievement, destiny, and motivation.
The Midwest Reviews
This book is all about the journey. It helps you recognize the magic moments that jumpstart our journeys in pursuit of our destiny. Author Chuks Ndukwe takes us on his story with him, narrating the intense lows he encounters like war, the death of loved ones, getting laid off, and more, while sharing the highs that keep him moving forward. It teaches us that while we are never prepared for our journeys, we should be ready when the magic moment arrives. Because if we are, we can achieve some truly amazing things like Ndukwe did. And trust me, he does some truly amazing things in this story.
The author has a particular skill in short lyrical phrases that help us better understand our situations and the lives around us. He shares insightful moments with the reader as well as influential opinions on topics like being a good engineer, a good teacher, or even just a good person. But perhaps my favorite aspect of this book is Ndukwes nuanced view on destiny. He sheds light on the way that we see ourselves and on our perpetual search for whatever we expect our lives to become. There are quite a few parts in this book that felt refreshing and original, and Im so glad they were included.
The Audacity of Destiny definitely has something to offer its readers. It is a great example of succeeding through perseverance for all those who are ready to take their next step. It is a first-hand account of losing battles but continuing on despite the pain in pursuit of their journey. This inspirational memoir could help you open your eyes and prepare you for your destinyif youre up to the challenge.

To those who embrace obstacle as a stepping stone and failure as an opportunity to change course.

Destiny is preordained. But not in the same manner as death. In the case of death, we dont work to find itits omnipresent and ready to grab us at any time. Whereas destiny, although similarly ubiquitous but hidden from common knowledge, catches nobody. Its each lifes sacred mission, the discovery of which fulfils its meaning and purpose. So as I see it, destiny is our reason for being and for which we are remembered long after we depart the earth. In essence, it is our footprint on the sand of time. For one who leaves without a trace is one whose existence is forgotten soon after he departs.
Prologue
It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves.

M ost parents tell their children, You can achieve whatever you put your mind to, like theyre destined to do great thingseven if its something entirely absurd. What a load of utter crap! Its like telling a child he can fly, without actually explaining that the only way he can do so is by an airplane or some other airborne object. A wise man said this once:
Show a child something to think about instead of how to think. Because every breath-taking magic event is likely to capture his imagination and get him off the street.
Destiny and hope serve different purposes in our lives, but there is one thing that they share in commoneach is deeply rooted in its mythology that often bewilders the human mind. While the word hope is a desire or wishes with the belief that you can obtain what you hoped for, destiny is said to be the foreordained future were fated. The mystery of destiny resides in its deity and a mans fantasy that one day, the god or goddess will bless him with the goal he seeks in life.
Very often, you hear celebritiesmovie stars, music stars, comedians, and various other performers spit false attribution of their performances to their destinies as though destiny and achievement are the very incarnations each other.
For years, I tortured myself questioning the integrity of the notion of destiny. I asked myself questions like: How come only the successful invoke the word? What about the people who never make it out of their neighborhoods, and end up on the street; is that their destiny? Why should a precious child whose success came from inheritance utter the word destiny with the same breath as a poor kid who amid insurmountable social and economic odds makes it to where even the wealthiest struggle to be? Thats my quibble against destinythe concept seems to belong to the affluent, but then I take comfort in the definition I found in my dictionary:
