Bust That Budget!
Welcome wedding planners to the most exciting rollercoaster ride of your life!
Yes, your journey to the aisle of dreams starts right here with my little black book of budget busting and do-it-yourself wedding planning ideas. Quite simply, this eBook is totally dedicated to maximising your budget and sparking those creative juices to make sure your wedding day stands out for all the right reasons. And the good news is that it certainly doesnt need to cost a petrifying fortune to create a truly memorable fairytale day none of your guests will ever forget. This guide is all about spending wisely, whilst at the same time being inventive by putting your own stamp on proceedings. The very best weddings are always those soaked in personality and character so, by choosing to DIY a little you are already half way there!
In some cases, the W word can double your costs as suppliers try to cash in on your celebrations so, wherever possible, steer clear of mentioning your wedding all together. Of course this is much harder with the florist or cake maker but dont worry, I have lots of advice and top tips on how to tackle specific wedding suppliers a little later in the guide! Essentially we just need to make sure you ask the right questions to make your cash go further. And when it comes to the fundamentals of stretching your big day budget, its always important to start local and look at what you can source on your doorstep - more importantly, you can always barter a better deal on a one to one, plus you get to support an independent local trader, which is never a bad thing. Also, remember to put the word on the street and tell anyone who will listen that you are in the process of planning a wedding, as someone will probably know someone who can help. Essentially I want to make sure you get a great deal and good value for money across every element of your big day. Its all about spending wisely, looking for alternatives and ultimately thinking outside the traditional wedding day box.
DIY wedding planning is most successful when we not only utilise our own talents, but also tap into all the individual skills and services our community of friends and family have to offer. Sourcing local food produce or serving traditional dishes custom to your own town or city is one instant area that springs to mind when it comes to saving cash. If its built or grown on your doorstep, nine times out of ten it will be cheaper than shipping in from afar. Maybe a friend of a friend is an incredible chef that you can hire for all the event catering?
Always think, what can we do ourselves? Or, what can some of our close friends and family help us with? Its amazing the amount of people who know of a florist or home-baker that you could get onboard at half the standard price of a traditional supplier. More on all the cakes, flowers and dresses later, but one thing to bear in mind post read... the very best way to action this hunt for local stars, is by hosting a mass brainstorm with your nearest and dearest (over a bottle or two of vino of course), to unearth said suppliers and all the budding crafters within your inner circle you may never have known about! Its always much fun with a cheeky buffet thrown in too and usually ends with a whole host of fantastic ideas coming out the other end. Book me in I am there!
So the next few pages are all about igniting that journey, by introducing you to a marvellous mix of top tips to make your wedding day truly spectacular - without breaking the bank! Its your big day so why not do it your way - all smothered in a gorgeous dollop of originality!
