ABOUT THIS BOOK
The Annual Disability Statistics of 2018 report published by the U.S. Census Bureau states that among 20 million working-age people, about 7.5 million had jobs. About 37 percent of U.S. civilians with disabilities aged 18 to 64 years were employed compared to 77.2 percent of the U.S. civilians not classified as disabled who had a job. It was noted that 29 out of the 50 states in the country were awarded job gains among the communities with disabilities. In terms of disability employment among the U.S. states, North Dakota leads at 56.3 percent.
Disability Rights, Benefits, and Support Services Sourcebook, First Edition provides information about the different types of disability and their impact on individuals and society. It also outlines the importance of including people who have limitations and provides information on the barriers to participation.
