To my husband, Steve; my daughters, Caitie end Gwen; my sister, Jen;
and my parents, Grace and Steve: Thank you for believing in me
and what I do. Thank you picking me up when I fall down and

About the Author
SANDY ROBERTS earned her B.S. in Chemical Biology from Stevens Institute of Technology with a Minor in Literature and Certificates in Chemical Engineering and Computer Science. She did graduate work with Stevens, William Paterson, and Montana State. After working in both publishing and pharmaceutical research for several years, she had her two daughters. It changed her life.
After going back to school and changing careers, Roberts became a middle school science, math, and engineering teacher. Flipping classrooms, pushing boundaries, and helping students discover their love for STEM was too much fun to confine to school hours, so she founded Kaleidoscope Enrichment, LLC, to offer after school, homeschooling, and other local programs.
Around the same time, Roberts attended her first Maker Faire in New York City. Inspired by the maker movement, she led her first Maker Camp that summer as one of the first affiliates for the new program. In the years since, her passion for Maker Camp and for sharing the maker mindset with students has only grown, as have her programs throughout northwest New Jersey.
Roberts regularly brings her Maker Camp projects to Maker Faire and has earned multiple ribbons for her teams work. Shes presented at Maker Faire, sharing her Maker Camp success tips with fellow educators. Her camp program has been featured on Makezine.com, and she shared her experiences on the Maker Camp Campfire webcasts in 2017.
