To Senhor Olavo Amaral Ferraz Conservationist, Humanitarian, Planter who, when he arrived in western Brazil by horsecart in 1927 to clear land for coffee, left one-third of it in primeval forest for wildlife. This relict of the original forest is known today as Reserva dos Caitetus, the reserve of the peccaries, and is under the protective custody of the Instituto Florestal of the state of So Paulo.
