A Perfect Tour Of Turkish Coast
Days 14
North Aegean
Pick up a hire car in stanbul, drive to Gallipoli, spending the night in Kocadere. The next day, finish touring the peninsulas World War I battlefields, crossing to anakkale for lunch. Drive to Troy in the early afternoon, then cross to Bozcaada for a swim and overnight. Return to the mainland, arriving at Assos for lunch and visiting the ancient acropolis. Continue to Ayvalk or Cunda for dinner and hotel. In the morning, continue to Pergamons acropolis and Asklepion, lunching at Foa en route to Alaat.
Days 56
On to Ephesus
After a morning swim at Altnkum, take the coastal road directly to Kuadas, for a two-night stay there, Seluk or irince village. Spend the afternoon at ancient Ephesus and the Seluk museum. The next day drive to Pamukkale, aiming to get there for the late afternoon light.
Days 79
Ephesus to Knidos
Head south, via ancient Priene, Miletus and Didyma, towards Bodrum, stopping for lunch at Milas port of Iassos. Arrive at Bodrum (or a peninsula resort) for two nights stay. Theres time for windsurfing, diving or just idling in the bazaar. Get an early start, pausing for Mulas historic houses, en route to Data; swim at an excellent beach to the west, with Knidos left for sunset.
