Preface
The success of the first two editions of Cataloging Correctly for Kids encouraged me to spur on the members of the Cataloging of Children's Materials Committee to revise, revamp, or write completely new articles for this edition. Knowing that school library media specialists and children's librarians found the book useful led us to approach the Association of Library Resources and Technical Services Division to place the publication in print again.
Many thanks are due the authors for their diligence; Diane Stine, chair of the Cataloging of Children's Materials Committee, for her assistance; Ann Case for her capable editorial scrutiny of the Guidelines; Gregory New for his unfailing attention to detail in perusing the manuscript with me; Margaret Rohdy, chair of the ALCTS Publications Committee, for steering the manuscript through the shoals of peer readership; Robert F. Sibert and Robert L. Sibert of Bound to Stay Bound Books for their encouragement and support; and, finally, Jim Braden, programmer extraordinaire at Bound to Stay Bound Books, for merging many discs and word-processing programs into a coherent whole.
