Welcome to Comics Buyers Guide Presents: 100 Sexiest Women of Comics! Throughout comic-book history, theyve enhanced the pages of picture stories sometimes as little more than pin-ups, sometimes as essential story elements, sometimes as central characters. As The Spirits PGell warns above, however, many of their appearances were not designed for little boys.
How did we come to produce this foray into the world of femmes fatales (and non-fatales)? Comics Buyers Guide is the longest-running magazine about comics in North America. Started in 1971 by a teen in East Moline, Ill., CBG has brought comics fans and pros news, reviews, auction updates, and commentary for four decades. Subscription and other information appears at left. You can also check out selected back issues free on your iTunes-ready mobile device through the Comics+ app.
Do you agree with our choices? Disagree? Wonder why your favorite female isnt on our list? Let us know on , or by mail to our editorial offices. Time to turn the page to enjoy!

RED SONJA
#
Her chain-mail bikini has been sighted numerous times at comics conventions since she first donned it in the early 1970s. Seen on occasion with Conan (or a thinly disguised version), the female warrior can hold her own against any man and has many times.
DEATH
#
Writer Neil Gaiman redefined Death in his Sandman series, turning her into the girl everyone eventually dies to meet. The sister of Dream, Death has touched a number of DC characters, including Lex Luthor.
JEAN GREY
#
The redhead didnt need her mental powers to make the rest of the X-Mens heads turn. In early days, she even attracted Professor Xaviers attention. (Ewww!) When the Phoenix Force took her powers to a near-cosmic level, Jean took on a new level of hotness.
ZATANNA ZATARA
#
Its magical how a tuxedo and top hat can be improved by the addition of fishnets in place of trousers. One question, though: If Zatannas dad is Zatara, does that mean his full name is Zatara Zatara? Hope his middle initial isnt Z.
EMMA FROST
#
Education in many forms has been Emmas trademark since her earliest appearances. Just keep your thoughts to yourself, or detention will be the least of your worries.
WONDER WOMAN
#
Among her 1940s equipment were a golden lasso and girdle of loving submission. The Amazon Princess has fueled fantasies for nearly 70 years.
WITCHBLADE
#
NYPD homicide detective Sara Pezzinis mystical artifact was heavy on the hotness factor. Casual readers may ask how chilly she became in New Yorks winters.
VENUS
#
As evidence that goddesses walk the earth, we offer Roman goddess Venus. Or, at least, she thought she was the Roman goddess. She later learned she was actually a siren, which was still mystical and all but not at a goddess level. Sigh.
POWER GIRL
#
Wally Woods mid-1970s zaftig addition to The Justice Society of America brought a needed female presence to the mostly male group. Hey! Her eyes are up there, guys!
