Praise for Six Months to Live
Without Medjugorje, I would not have portrayed Jesus in The Passion of the Christ. After visiting this remote village, for the first time in my life I realized that Jesus saw me, was concerned about me, and loved me. I felt the most extraordinary sense of peace that I wished everyone could experience. When I read this book, I was struck again with this simple but life-changing truth. One of the most important lessons Artie beautifully communicates as you follow his healing journey is the need for men to be intimately involved in the spiritual leadership of their families. His words and story of an impossible healing will not only stay with you for a very long time, but challenge you to the person God called you to be. Jim Caviezel, star, The Passion of the Christ
A chance conversation in a hockey rink leads to a life-changing experience for Artie and his friends. Having known the Boyle family for many years I am certain that his story will be an inspiration to anyone who reads this book.Bobby Orr, NHL Hall of Fame member, author of Orr: My Story
In a day when mankind relies heavily on technology to provide for his needs, Artie Boyle had no choice but to rely on his faith. Stricken with terminal cancer and out of medical options, this father of thirteen traveled to a distant land to ask for a miracle. And, against all odds, he came home healed. Arties remarkable and miraculous journey will warm your heart and rekindle your faith.Jack Sacco, award-winning author of Where the Birds Never Sing and Above the Treetops
Men more comfortable on a golf course, hockey rink, or in boardrooms travel to a place where they are captivated by the spiritual, and return home very different men. An engrossing memoir.Glen Sather, President and General Manager, the New York Rangers
Mr. Boyles inspirational story of physical healing and spiritual transformation is one of many examples of the rich spiritual, psychological and physical fruits of Medjugorje. It reassures us of Marys unconditional love and desire to intercede for her children.Father Johann Roten, SM, Director of Research, Art and Special Projects, International Marian Research Institute/The Marian Library
The wonder of the Arthur Boyle story is that it is still unfolding. A process of faith, prayer and sacraments, wrapped in the love of family and friends, and graced by the Virgin of Medjugorje, opened a healing path which continues to inspire Christian joy, hope and vision in hungry souls from the town of Hingham to distant lands. Long may its ripple effect continue!Father Simon Cadwallader, Missionary Society of St. James the Apostle
Artie Boyle tells us how faith, family and friends helped him experience a miracle. Inspiring and unforgettable. A must read!Bill Brett, former director of photography, the Boston Globe
My fathers healing experience has been an inspiration to me and to my eleven siblings. It changed all of us forever. We are incredibly grateful to Jesus and Mary for the last fourteen years with him, and the things we have been able to share as a family. I hope readers will be uplifted by this story of faith, family and friends.Brian Boyle, player, New York Rangers

There are many people to whom I could dedicate this book: my wife, my children, my parents, my friends that stepped out in faith to help save me. However, I feel that my greatest advocate is Our Lady. The Mother of God took me under her mantle and helped guide me to Medjugorje, where I discovered my true spirituality. I will always love Our Blessed Mother for pointing me to her loving son Jesus, and I will be forever grateful for that gift.
Our Lady Queen of Peace, pray for us.

Foreword
Mary, the mother of Jesus, is a model of perfect love and obedience to her divine son. Prophesied in the Old Testament by Isaiah and Micah, in the New Testament she was first venerated by the angel Gabriel when he greeted her with the words: Hail full of grace. And at the visitation, Elizabeth, Marys cousin spontaneously exclaimed, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy wombthat is, Jesus. As Elizabeth said, Mary was chosen above all women to give birth to Jesus, and she was also granted the grace to be part of Gods plan for our salvation. Jesus gave her to all of us on the cross when he said to his disciple John, Son behold thy mother. She is mother of all, ready to help and encourage us on our faith journey.
We do not pray to Mary as if she were God or see her as our mediator. Jesus is the only mediator between us and God. Rather than worship her, we venerate her for her closeness to Jesus, and ask for her intercession, just as we would ask for prayers from a close friend.
Mary herself cannot perform miracles. Like the saints, she is a creature not a deity. She always points us to her son. At Cana, she asked Jesus to perform his first public miracle, but instructed the servants, as she instructs us, Whatever he saith unto you, do it. (Jn. 2:5) We turn to our mother in all our needs knowing that like any mother, she wants to aid us. And how could a son ignore the pleas of his mother on our behalf? Mary and Joseph are the two human beings whom we know that Jesus honored and continues to honor, since it is a divine commandment to honor ones father and mother.
Throughout the centuries, Our Lady has appeared in various locations around the world sharing her message of love. She encourages prayer, penance and conversion and beseeches us to follow Jesus. Although the church has not approved Medjugorje as one of these Marian apparition sites, many people, like Artie Boyle, have gone there to ask for Marys assistance. His inspirational testimony of her intercession, and his call to give witness to her motherly love, inspire us to entrust her with all our needs. Through her prayers, God lifts Mr. Boyle from great despair and carries him to the top of the mountain where he and his companions experience an intense spiritual transformation at the foot of the Cross.
