This is a remastered recording of works by Arthur Rubinstein, one of the greatest pianists of the 20th century and a wonderful interpreter of Beethovens music. Included on this CD are:

This CD offers a good sampling of Beethovens works. The orchestras, conductors, and soloists performing on the CD are celebrated for their excellence. An enjoyable choice for starting a Beethoven collection.

Beethoven: The 9 Symphonies

(Deutsche Grammophon)

Featuring Leonard Bernstein conducting the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, this set of all nine symphonies is outstanding. The music was recorded during magnificent live concerts.

Beethoven: The Piano Concertos (Decca)

The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra is conducted by Zubin Mehta in this boxed set featuring the Romanian pianist Radu Lupu. The orchestra and soloist interact flawlessly on this CD. The recordings were made over a 20-year period and put together for this collection.

Beethovens Wig: Sing Along Symphonies

(Rounder Records)

Crazy lyrics are set to pieces of music by various great composers in this CD, which has been nominated several times for Grammy Awards as best musical album for children. The songs provide information about the composers as well as their fabulous music. You can sing or dance along with these funny songs and then listen to the music without the lyrics.

Beethoven Lives Upstairs (Devine Videoworks Production, 1992; directed by David Devine)

This TV special tells a story about a boy who lives in a building where Beethoven is a tenant. It features excerpts of Beethovens best-loved works conducted by Walter Babiak. (Also available as a book.)

In Search of Beethoven (Microcinema, 2010; directed by Phil Grabsky)

This documentary investigates the composers life. Grabsky interviewed historians and musicians across America and Europe for the film. The narration is complemented by various musicians performing parts of Beethovens works.
