Greta Anderson grew up in Bexley, Ohio, and attended the Columbus School for Girls. She received a bicoastal education in California (BA) and New Jersey (MA, PhD), but was glad to return to the Midwest. She is also the author of More Than Petticoats: Remarkable Texas Women and More Than Petticoats: Remarkable Wisconsin Women (both by Globe Pequot). Greta is a reporter, editor, and producer for community radio programs in central Iowa, and lives with her husband on a small acreage where she practices vegetable farming and other arts.

Susan Sawyer enjoys exploring the past and writing about historical topics. History serves as the centerpiece for many of her writings, taking form in both fact and fiction. Susan is the author of sixteen books, including More Than Petticoats: Remarkable Tennessee Women, It Happened in Tennessee, and Myths and Mysteries of Tennessee (all by Globe Pequot).

A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Susan worked as a magazine editor and communications consultant before establishing a career as a freelance writer and published author. Today she writes from her home in the suburbs of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
