Ellingtonia: summary, description and annotation

We offer to read an annotation, description, summary or preface (depends on what the author of the book "Ellingtonia" wrote himself). If you haven't found the necessary information about the book — write in the comments, we will try to find it.

Edward Kennedy Duke Ellington, one of the great composers and orchestra leaders of the twentieth century, remained musically active through his entire life, making it difficult to catalog his musical output completely. This completely revised and updated fourth edition of Ellingtonia indexes the recorded music of Ellington and his sidemen and includes studio recordings, soundtracks, concerts, radio broadcasts, and private recordings, as well as recordings made by his sidemen with other bands and under their own names. This revised work also lists a vast amount of new material including the so-called stockpile recordings released since the previous edition. Ellingtonia contains an easy to use guide for readers; a list of orchestras; keys for personnel, labels and abbreviations, indexes, and an attendance chart. Essential for jazz researchers, scholars, and collectors.
