CONTENTS
I, as author of this book, sometimes wonder what led me to write a book on the subject of attitude in business. When I think deeply, I feel that there is a compelling need to address the subject because, at the end of the day, it is all about the game of attitude.
I would like to begin by offering my gratitude to my parents, other members of my family, my team, franchisees, including master franchise and unit franchise, show organizers and every single professional of my field who, in different ways, has shown me the importance of having the right attitude.
I am extremely fortunate for having worked with people who have supported me on my journey, particularly in the formative years of my career. Many of them, through their presence and actions, have guided me in this journey.
I have been lucky to have great friends who have been there in all phases and challenges of my life. These friends have always been honest in their criticism of me and this has helped me grow and be what I am today.
GET OUT
OF YOUR
COMFORT
ZONE
LIFE BEGINS AT
THE END OF YOUR
COMFORT ZONE.
NEALE DONALD WALSCH
NOAH BELIEVED THE RAIN WOULD COME; RATHER THAN LISTENING TO OTHERS, HE FOLLOWED HIS HEART AND DID WHAT HE THOUGHT WAS RIGHT. ESSENTIALLY IT IS SAYING DONT WAIT FOR THE NEED TO ARISE, PLAN AHEAD AND BE PREPARED.
H ave you heard about the story of Noah from the Holy Bible? Noah, a shepherd, decided to construct an ark for his family and for himself in preparation for a catastrophic flood. After the ark had been built and Noah and his family had entered that ark, it rained for a period of 40 days and nights, destroying everything in the surroundings. Had Noah not built the ark, he and his family would have had a similar fate like others.
Who doesnt love to be in a comfort zone? That is the reason it is called comfort in the first place. But it is also a place where it is difficult to try anything new. Although you can certainly stay in your zone every once in a while, remember that it is important that you venture out.
I COULD HAVE EASILY REMAINED IN THE COMFORT ZONE BUILT BY MY GRANDFATHER AND FATHER AS THE COMFORT ZONE IS A BEAUTIFUL PLACE, BUT NOTHING EVER GROWS THERE.
Life is a journey which starts from the mothers womb and then slowly advances through different phases and different stretches. At times, the pace is rapid like the gushing streamlets that run through small hamlets on the mountains, and sometimes it meanders slowly past the cities, towns and plains.
Every journey is an experience, but the experience varies as it varies for individuals. Every individual has a maqsad (motto), some realize it early and some later, while some dont realize it at all. Their wishes only remain as unfulfilled dreams because they allow themselves to remain in a zone where they are comfortable and happy.
Although happiness and comfort are apparently not synonymous, still it has been noticed that comfort breeds happiness which then encompasses the being aspect in such a manner that an individual forgets the efforts that he/she had made to achieve that comfort and that state of happiness. The individual remains in that state without realizing that comfort and happiness are temporary. However, with time, the same comfort and happiness that one had longed for and achieved become mundane and suffocating. It is like a mountaineer who strives to reach a peak; once he reaches there, he is so overwhelmed by the beauties of nature that he/she decides to stay back; at nightfall, that same nature turns so harsh that the happiness enjoyed a few hours ago fizzes out. The beauty of the morning is a menace at night. To make that joy everlasting, one will have to push it and shove it into the room called memories, and then get rid of that contentment and put extra effort to descend as there is another peak waiting to be reached. Satisfaction is good, but it does not last forever. So shun it like poison the moment one is satisfied with that satisfaction.
All of us suffer from this deadly satisfaction. It kills the urge to seek, to achieve. Thankfully, it did not happen to me.
I WASNT BORN WITH A SILVER SPOON
