DEDICATION Iam a Conservative, which means I pay my debts. And I have many with regard tothis book. Thereare many people to thank or blame for this project. Lets start withIrina, my hot and wonderful wife, who has tolerated this whole conservativemedia thing Ive been doing and helped me through every step of this process. She also didnt divorce or shoot me. That makes up, almost, for introducing meto Jack the Hideous Terrier.

Thereare a lot of people who helped me out in many ways while I put this togetherwith Irina. Jon Gabriel provided valuable feedback and took the cover conceptto the next level. Kellie Jane Adan, Kim Tabin Mann, Esq., Dr. Jason Whitman,and Wes (@FTWes) all provided assistance and encouragement, reading drafts andgiving me grief where necessary. Its been great. Finally,I want to thank my late friend Andrew Breitbart. I know a bit about leaders Ive served with many but Ive only met a few visionaries. Andrew was one.

He had a vision of a technology-empowered culture where the gatekeepers whonever would have let something like this book see the light of day ten yearsago now have to suck up the fact that I can publish it and that you can read itand they no longer get a vote. Andrews message was that the culture is ours go take it! And, I hope, thats what Im doing in a small way.

I am a Conservativebecause I just dont care. I just dont care aboutthe lame excuses that people offer to justify why the money I earned workingshould subsidize their deadbeat lifestyles. I just dont care aboutEuropean weenies who think Americas moral obligation is to capitulate in theface of two-bit tyrants around the world. I just dont care thatprofessional guilt mongers tell us that we must impoverish ourselves andenrich them to atone for the alleged sins of people who died a century beforeI was born.

I just dont care. God forbid that anyoneever truly thinks that Im caring. In fact, I frequently pay tribute to mycontempt for their kind of self-serving caring with the hashtag #Caring . Hashtags are a kind of shorthand used on Twitter (where this whole thing gotstarted) to represent an idea or a concept clearly a succinctly. Youll see #caringappear frequently as you go. The idea or concept I seek to clearly andsuccinctly communicate is that I just dont care.

But that insight hadprobably dawned on you already. Im not particularly sensitive to othersfeelings, particularly when those others are whiny wusses. I am a Conservative,and if you are so damned excited about sensitivity to others, go be sensitiveto others. Sensitize your liberal ass off but count me out. And I have no intentionof proving myself sensitive to the needs of others, or open to new ideas ortolerant to a bunch of left-wing hypocrites who dont even bother pretendingto practice what they preach. See, I know that you leftisthacks dont want everyone to be sensitive to the needs of others.

Youwant me to be sensitive to the needs of others, by which you mean youexpect me to write checks to Uncle Sam that you and your liberal buddies willturn into entitlement pay-offs to your various loser constituencies so you canretain and expand your power. Have you noticed thatno one is ever sensitive to the needs of the people who actually producesomething besides social pathologies? Funny how that works. The same is true forbeing open to new ideas. No one is ever supposed to be open to our newideas. Oh, wait...just thinking that makes me racist. Or is it sexist? No,its homophobic.

Or is it Islamophobic? Just to be safe, Illassume all of them. Gimme a break. Yourparty had a hero who was a KKK Kleagle, not mine. Or was Robert Byrd an ExaltedCyclops? I get them confused. I am a Conservative,meaning that I think most new ideas are bad ideas. See, people have beenaround long enough that we have a pretty good grasp of what works likekeeping the government the hell out of our lives and what doesnt.

And whatdoesnt work is exactly what the liberals are doing now increasing governmentpower and influence and thereby wreaking the nation that remains the only realhope left in the world. They call this processof destruction progress. I am against it. And dont get mestarted on the liberal notion of tolerance. Any overlap between actual toleranceand liberal tolerance is purely coincidental. I am a Conservative,which means that I think individuals can and must govern themselves.

Left alone, in general,people will flourish. Sure, some will make mistakes, or indulge in bad,short-sighted decision-making. Liberalism counts on that. In fact, the welfarestate is built on taking the money from those of us who have our acts togetherand transferring it a gunpoint to those who have screwed their lives up. This is silly, becausethere is already something in place to address those bad choices. Its aconcept called consequences, and it is wonderful.

Dont want to work? Awesome!You might find yourself hungry and cold, but youre an adult and you get tocontend with the consequences of your choices. If, you know, you like food andshelter, consequences will give you that little nudge you need to get off yourlazy ass and get a job. But if you dont wantto if you are willing to accept the consequences you can live like a bum. Thatswhat we mean when we call the United States a free country. You are free tolive how you wish, and I am free of any obligation to subsidize yourdegenerate, loser lifestyle. Liberalism is, inshort, merely a system that uses the amelioration of the negative consequencesof its vassal political constituencies choices through the transfer of moneyfrom productive people as a means to solidify friendly voting blocs.

Welcome to the DemocratParty, a political party devoted entirely to the idea of stealing from itsopponents to pay off the losers who vote for it. I am a Conservative,and I dont apologize. Too manyconservatives do they want to come across as happy-face nice-guys who wouldnever dream of challenging others with the hard reality that success requireshard work, discipline, and sacrifice. Well, it does. I dont want to makepeople happy I want to make people aware. Then I want to makethem get away from me so I can go do what the hell I please.

What follows is a wholebunch of insights into what it means to be a conservative a real conservative,who just doesnt care, not some wussy pseudo-con who yearns for the approval ofthe liberal establishment so he can keep getting invitations to cocktailparties with Paul Krugman. They come largely frommy Twitter ramblings over the last couple years offered up under my Twitterhandle, @KurtSchlichter .If you havent been following me, its all new to you. And if you have, youprobably havent seen most of these. And if you have seen them all, I pity you get a life. Ive tried to dividethem up into categories, but theres also a bit of chaos to them the beautyof Twitter being that you can just write about what you want, when you want to.So embrace and enjoy the random! The idea is that youcan flip to any page and just start reading. It helps if youve had some beers.

Actually, having somebeers helps most things. While Twitter famouslylimits tweets to just 140 characters, forcing upon us a wonderful brevity that wefind all too rarely in this under-edited world, some of these nuggets o wisdommay slightly exceed that. Ive edited them, changing the little abbreviationswe use to save characters, expanding them where a couple more words mightclarify and improve the point, and generally made them more coherent. Ive alsosliced out most Twitter names. But Ive left most ofthe curse words in. Like I said, I dontcare.
