Preface
This book traces the history of American evangelicals' mission to the armed forces of the United States beginning in the early 1940s and continuing into the present. It describes how they succeeded in winning thousands of military men and women to evangelical religion and, through the influence they gained among the military leadership, exerted a significant impact on the armed forces as an institution.
